85k H1Bs a year are an exceedingly tiny fraction of the 165 million working persons in the US. Also one of the least likely to depend on any govt support, minimal crime rate and high tax payers.
Vance is simply trying to shore up his sagging base to salvage the mid terms.
Vice President JD Vance breaks down the data:
"If you are working as an H-1B visa in the United States of America, you’re earning $20,000 less than an American citizen hired in the same position. If you were brought in by one of these foreign outsourcing firms, you’re making $48,000 less than an American citizen in a similar position. So I’m sure that everybody here understands the game that is being played. You bring in indentured servants from outside the country, you lay off American workers and, if you’re a corporation, you make a ton of money by under cutting the wages of American workers, replacing them with people who frankly shouldn’t be in the United States of America to begin with."

2047 means absolutely nothing to us millennials. By then, most of us will be in our 50s, nearing retirement or already out of the workforce. So what exactly is the grand vision for our lives today?
For starters, tell us why it takes 8 yrs to build the Pune Metro line 3 while we spend hours every single day stuck in traffic breathing dust. And what about the SPPU flyover? The old flyovers were demolished in 2020, the new construction was supposed to take 36 months, and the deadline has already been extended. Meanwhile, we are the ones paying the price. 2 hrs in traffic every single day, dust in our faces. Concrete barricades everywhere, fuel wasted, productivity lost, stress piling up. We don't need promises about 2047 right now. Tell us what you are doing for the people who are trying to get to work, get home, raise families and simply live a decent life in 2026. Give usatleast one functioning road.... 2047 can wait. We are asking about tomorrow morning.

There are few places that truly shake you and leave lasting scars on your mind. America and its warmongering. The Museum in Ho Chi Minh City is one of them. It is a place so filled with tragedy that it feels difficult to even take photos.

US soldiers spraying chemical in & around Saigon river to kill mangroves. It was part of larger mission Op Ranch Hand where they dropped tonnes of toxic chemicals on Vietnam to remove forests & crops.
This poisoned food chains & gave diseases to people. Unprecedented intentional damage to nature & wildlife.

Delhi houses nearly 800 MPs, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the PMO, embassies of countries across the world, and 1000s of bureaucrats working in South Block, Seva Teerth, Shastri Bhavan, Udyog Bhavan and countless other government offices. It has the Supreme Court and the HQs of the CBI, IB, RAW, DRDO, DIA, CRPF, BSF and so many other institutions that are supposed to safeguard this country.
And yet, in this very Delhi, one of the country's most prominent colleges has to shift classes online because women aren't safe, and parks have to revise their timings for the same reason then this is nothing short of a national emergency imo.

Cashless health insurance is legally sanctioned house arrest.
The doctor officially discharges you at 9 AM. You are fully recovered, your bags are packed and your family is ready to take you home.
Then the hospital administration steps in: "Sir, the insurance TPA approval is pending. Please remain seated in your room until we receive the final payment."
You then spend the next 8 to 12 hours held hostage in a ₹15,000-a-day hospital room.
You are no longer a patient but you are collateral. The hospital doesn't trust the insurance company to actually pay, the insurer is deliberately stalling to find a typo in your medical history to reject the claim and you are stuck in the middle of a corporate standoff.
We live in a country where UPI settles transactions in 300 milliseconds and automated trading algorithms move crores in a microsecond.
The system is designed to exhaust you. They want you so frustrated and desperate to go home that the next time you get sick, you just pay the cash upfront and file for a reimbursement which they will conveniently reject 45 days later citing "insufficient documentation."
If my policy is active and the hospital is in-network, the final discharge should be an instant and automated API settlement. Man I paid insurance company for this service.
Until we force insurers to adopt automated clearing, stop calling it a cashless facility.
Call it what it actually is: an extortion racket with a waiting room.

Call me a cynic, but I can’t get myself to get excited about Pune hosting a world class cycling event in 2032 or next year for a week when the city does so little (actually nothing) to make cycling viable for its own citizens.
Make Pune roads friendly for cycling with proper lanes, decent roads & traffic law enforcement.
While you invite world’s best cyclists here.
Both the things ought to be possible right?

Have we elected these people to do all this drama? Elected CM to do havan like a megalomaniac on Modi’s birthday? Which other country has such scenes? Satya Niketan is fresh in people’s minds. Has Rekha ji done a shanti havan for those students’ families? They are complete failures when it comes to building a developed India of our dreams.

People move abroad for better systems, cleaner streets & stricter civic rules .. & then they break those very civic etiquettes. Why not just come back to India & do the whole bhakti cha dekhava here? Or is the devotion somehow more meaningful when you can take over the streets of a foreign country.

Now they’re going to charge common citizens for UPI too.
Then why are we paying 30% tax if the public has to do everything by themselves even after paying taxes?
