🚨Exclusive: Arsenal to appoint Jordan McCann as Elite Player Development Coach within the Professional Development Phase, working alongside David Horseman and academy coaches, with duties across the UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy as part of his new remit. #AFC @PurplePanel medium.com/@purplepanel/purp…

Arsenal are fortunate that the bond Mikel Arteta has with the club still outweighs his frustration with how this window has been handled. Arteta expected more movement, with the work from Berta leaving him with less than expected. He has always found solutions with what he is given. Once again, he will have to.

🚨Exclusive: Arsenal and the camp of Julian Alvarez were exploring a structure that could have created a route to the deal in the last hours. A senior figure in the Arsenal hierarchy was trying to engineer an exit mechanism that could have been agreed now by mutual consent. The structure was designed to bring Alvarez to Arsenal without permanently closing his preferred route back to Spain. This clause would've become effective after 24 months, with contractual protections included, but the structure didn’t materialise. Arsenal believe every viable route was tested, and this process has exposed that some people are simply not worth the effort. #AFC @PurplePanel medium.com/@purplepanel/purp…

The job is done.

This is not how it ends. Arsenal have one last plan.

🚨Exclusive: Manchester City reach full agreement with Chelsea to sign Enzo Fernandez. Total £120M fixed-fee deal reached this evening after weeks of positioning. Enzo given approval to undergo medical tomorrow & join City on a 5yr contract. Checkmate. #ManCity #CFC @PurplePanel

🚨Arsenal have made no approach to Atletico Madrid for Julian Alvarez, with the player not giving the club the green light; their strategy remains built around conviction, hence the push for Malick Fofana, who has shown clear readiness to join Arsenal, rather than chasing players not committed to the Emirates. #AFC @PurplePanel

🚨Manchester City are advancing towards reaching an agreement with Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez, and believe £120M deal will be reached today. City confident Chelsea will allow Enzo to undergo his medical once they secure their replacement. City expect the deal to close on a timetable Chelsea once tried to control. #ManCity @PurplePanel medium.com/@purplepanel/purp…

🚨Andrea Berta’s methodology is under growing scrutiny at Arsenal, with Arteta extremely displeased by how the window has been handled. Berta allowed the Rogers pursuit to drag on while trying to unsettle him and force down the price, as Roc Nation used Arsenal as leverage in Vinicius Jr’s Real Madrid renewal. Successive opportunities followed, but none led to an agreement. Alvarez remains wanted, but any alternative move will be reactive and driven by pressure rather than the original plan. #AFC @PurplePanel medium.com/@purplepanel/purp…

The coaching staff were right all along, and one year later, here we are.

There is a strange kind of clarity that comes when you stop chasing every headline. You begin to notice how easily names are thrown around here, with misleading updates keeping imaginary stories alive purely to deceive, only to end up stuck in their own mud. Some will know this is meant for them, if they are as intelligent as they appear. This summer, I tried to step back and look more closely at how deals develop before they become public. I spoke with those who help keep the engine running and saw more clearly how relationships shape stories and where connections reach their limits. It became clear which journalists to keep respecting and which so called journalists deserve to be stepped on like a dry leaf on the corner of the street. I also explored what happens before a story exists, from conversations to the reasons deals die long before a bid is made. Dishonesty in the market became impossible to ignore. I wanted to understand why some people feel the need to lie, and what drives them to do so. The more I uncovered, the more I realized how much remained beneath the surface. Every time you think you understand the ocean, it only seems to get deeper. I came back with fewer assumptions and more questions. After all, I am just a person trying to help where I can, expecting nothing in return. The next game starts now.

🚨Manchester City’s rebuild has not only been about refreshing the squad. It has also been about restoring belief in the project. Towards the end of last season, there was a feeling inside the club that some players were no longer fully committed to its direction. Viana have since worked quietly to move them on, while rewarding those who remain invested with new contracts. #ManCity

The belief within Manchester City is that the deadline on Enzo was largely a bluff aimed at accelerating a deal before the start of the season, something City were never likely to sanction before Rodri's sale. Enzo remains a genuine target. Maresca communicated his desire for a player he knows well a long time ago. It fits a familiar strategy of his, which prioritizes signing trusted system enablers who can quickly implement his ideas. City are still expected to explore a deal for Enzo. The interest has always been concrete, so suggesting City are not or were never interested is something only a deluded clown would believe.
