The Epilepsy Association of The Maritimes are holding our Annual Purple Day Gala in Halifax on March 7th at the Westin Hotel NS and IF you buy your tickets before Thursday you get a chance to win a free tay at the Westin hotel the night of the Gala! It's a fun and very interactive event, every year it is a different theme which keeps each event equally consistent and new. This year theme is The Art of Resilience. inspired by the art style called "Kintsugi” which is taking broken pottery or sculptures & fixing them with gold. It represents the embracing scars & transforming them into strength and beauty. It’s about recognizing imperfections as something not to hide. It’s a powerful metaphor for resilience and a perfect fit for the Epilepsy community. Each seizure is a reminder, like a mental scar that only we can feel, or the physical scars from injuries we sustain. Despite this, we are still living our lives, growing & embracing each new day, while creating acceptance.
