The Breguet 5395BR Extra-Plat Squelette rose gold version does something most openworked watches miss: the tourbillon isn't just visible through a dial, it IS the dial architecture.
This is what separates true skeletonization from cutaway exhibitionism. The tourbillon at 6 o'clock anchors the composition. Clous de Paris guilloché frames the geometry. Running seconds on the tourbillon shaft means the complication serves legibility, not just spectacle.
When you can see the watchmaker's thought process in the architecture itself—that's when openworking justifies the complexity.

The @fp_journe Chronomètre Souverain in tantalum—when François-Paul decided simple chronometry needed a case that could survive the apocalypse.
What separates this from the Chronomètre Bleu: the Souverain maintains the classical off-center subsidiary seconds at 7 o'clock with power reserve at 3. Traditional chronometry meets material science.
