It’s quite astonishing how someone can voice criticism so confidently while completely failing to understand what’s happening on the pitch. As usual, Bayern Munich defended man to man across the entire pitch. Havertz’s job with his dropping movements was to drag Kim out of the defensive line so that Timber and Calafiori could attack the space behind. Arsenal’s first goal was a flawless execution of this plan, yet one of its key cogs is being criticized simply for carrying out the instructions instead of staying statically in the striker position, which would have made Bayern’s job significantly easier.
Look at where Arsenal’s “striker” is in this sequence of play. That’s not even the most frustrating thing. It’s the fact that he’s not a good enough ball user to justify dropping that deep. He’s not an elite passer, nor is he a good tight-space dribbler. Nobody has a problem with Harry Kane dropping deep into midfield because he’s one of the best creators in football. It’s also insane how Havertz also manages to get himself offside despite spending the majority of the game in Arsenal’s half.

Two questions: 1) Who is this? 2) Why is he standing there?

Jesus your lack of tactical understand is on show here. It's a man to man game, where both teams are staying with their man. The thing to do in that situation is to have those players roam to create spaces for others. It's why kane was next to his CBS too

Havertz as a STRIKER is the ultimate litmus test. Your ball knowledge cannot be taken seriously if you don't rate him. Obsessing over inevitable BCM's while ignoring his elite CF output (0.89 per 90 for Arsenal in PL) proves you're a low IQ propagandist.

Saka was fully locked in vs Bayern. Reloading that France WC performance. Catastrophic injury.

Saka's injury vs Bayern no coincidence, should never have started this back to back games within 3 days. He shouldn't be tasked with these extreme defensive responsibilities either.
Look at Arsenal's best attacker Saka in the 90th minute sprinting back to defend box vs Forest. Workhorses are hyped for less, while this legend gets zero acknowledgement for his elite defensive work rate every single game. They can never make me hate him

1 - Harry Kane's goal kick last night was the first he'd taken in any competition for club or country since October 2014, when he went in goal for Tottenham against Asteras Tripolis in the UEFA Europa League after Hugo Lloris was sent off. Versatility.
