Bridges do more than span waterways; they connect people to opportunities, services and livelihoods. At Dhogoye in Usenge, Siaya County, where the River Yala drains into Lake Victoria, the crossing has over the years been a dangerous point, with rising waters claiming lives and repeatedly disrupting movement. The ongoing construction of the Dhogoye Bridge by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is now restoring this vital link between Siaya and Busia counties. The Bondo–Usenge–Osieko corridor has long suffered disruptions during periods of high water, cutting communities off from markets, schools, health facilities and other essential services. Once complete, the bridge will provide a reliable all-weather crossing, improve the movement of people and goods, strengthen trade and bring communities across the lake basin closer to economic and social opportunities. Continued progress has been supported by coordination involving the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, local leaders, communities and implementing agencies, helping address operational challenges and sustain works on site.

Eldoret City's rapid expansion, driven by a growing population and increasing economic activity, is creating a rising demand for decent and affordable housing. The 226-unit Kimumu AMS Affordable Housing Project is helping address this need while supporting the City's orderly urban growth. The project has reached the superstructure stage, with the main structural works substantially complete and external works progressing. It will provide a mix of social, affordable and market-rate homes, alongside commercial spaces, parking, pedestrian walkways and recreational facilities. Designed as an integrated neighbourhood, the development also includes improved internal roads, reliable utilities and modern waste-management systems. Security planning is being strengthened through coordinated inter-agency efforts, with the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration supporting measures to safeguard the growing residential and public infrastructure.
