The idea of supporting XMR as a privacy option for PulseChain is simple: PLS → XMR → PLS in a fresh wallet. Swap PLS into Monero, transfer XMR privately, then swap back into PLS at a new address. Monero hides sender addresses, recipient addresses, and transaction amounts from public blockchain observers. However, there are some trade-offs: - Monero targets 2-minute blocks, and newly received funds require 10 confirmations before becoming spendable roughly 20 minutes, with actual timing varying. - Implementation: ETH–XMR atomic swaps have already been implemented. However they got exploited constantly. - Cost: Two swaps mean paying costs on both legs. As an illustrative calculation, a 0.5% charge on each leg costs approximately 1% round trip - or $10 on $1,000 - before network fees, slippage, or price movements. - Privacy: Monero’s privacy does not automatically make the surrounding swaps unlinkable. We’re exploring a better way to support XMR ↔ PLS swaps, balancing privacy, security, speed, and liquidity. The concept is there; the challenge is delivering a reliable experience.
