donate.pawschicago.org/campa… Zuzu and Zucca were just eight weeks old when Chicago’s winter nearly took their lives. Found alone on one of the coldest, snowiest days of the year, these tiny sisters were frostbitten, dehydrated, and barely hanging on. They were rushed to PAWS, where they’re now warm, safe, and receiving lifesaving care. But so many others are still out there tonight, facing freezing temperatures with nowhere to turn. Winter isn’t letting up, and the need is urgent. A gift to our Cold Weather Fund helps rescue pets from the cold, provide emergency medical care, and save lives when every minute matters. Zuzu and Zucca survived because help arrived in time. Please donate today to help the next animal in need. 💛

Just a few blocks from our Medical Center, this box of kittens was found sitting by the side of the road. Sick and way too young to be without a mom, Lorna, Luella, Luca, Luana, and Lyanna found themselves in the right place so we could help them at PAWS - but we didn’t do this alone. We had the help of multiple fosters dividing the work that goes into neonate care, all the food five hungry, growing kittens can go through courtesy of our feeding partner @Purina, and same as every life saved, you. Our work is entirely funded by donations - thank you for allowing us to be there when these kittens had no one else. You are heroes ❤️

We imagine Katniss couldn’t be feeling worse, but she’s still being an amazing mom to little Primrose, who needs her more than anything right now. We’re going to keep fighting for both of them, and while it’s a long road of recovery ahead, we’re so proud of how strong they’ve been so far! THANK YOU to all who answered our foster plea last week. With your help, we’ve been able to pull 38 cats and dogs from Chicago Animal Care & Control since then - including these two, other urgent kittens, and more dogs and cats now receiving care at our Medical Center. We’re constantly reminded how animal rescue is a community effort. Thank you for helping us save this sweet girl who’s had such a tough life so far, to give her and her baby a fighting chance ❤️

KITTEN FOSTERS NEEDED: Kittens in need are coming into PAWS from all angles - Chicago Animal Care & Control, sick strays surrendered directly to us, and through our Community Outreach TNR program. Just in the last week, we’ve taken in 40 kittens and still our city shelter is full of kittens. They need help - and we need help making space to do so. We could use fosters in any kitten capacity: moms and babies, kittens without moms, healthy kittens who just need to gain weight, sick kittens that can be easily treated at home, if you have space in your home for some cats or kittens, we’ll fill it! If you haven’t fostered before, that’s okay! We’re here to support you with supplies, education, and match you with a foster pet that fits your home best. Ready to get started? Apply at pawschicago.org/foster Already approved? Just reach out to the foster team and let them know you’re ready for your next guest!

Thanks to an incredible team effort today, we helped over 200 feral cats today - not just with spay/neuter, but with vaccines, flea treatment and preventatives, and more to help them live healthier, happier lives! This is year-round work for us. Spay/neuter stops the cycle of overpopulation that leads to overcrowded shelters and euthanasia. Every cat cared for today means fewer kittens born into danger tomorrow—and fewer animals entering a system that’s already stretched thin. This is how real change happens. One surgery at a time. One day at a time. One cat at a time. If you’d like to support our TNR and spay/neuter work, please visit donate.pawschicago.org/campa…

Craisin is home!!
It’s been a long road for everyone’s favorite hairless PAWS kitten, but she’s finally in a loving home and we couldn’t be happier for her! Craisin had an issue that we see a lot with kittens in need: she was struggling to put on weight and getting rid of some conjunctivitis. It took weeks in foster care but Craisin finally cleared for adoption and was scooped up in an instant. Thanks to our cat feeding partner @Purina for feeding all the cats in our care and helping little Craisin get adoption ready!

Craisin and her sideburns are brand new to PAWS, but she’s already got us all wrapped around her littlest toe bean! We’re not sure if Craisin is naturally hairless or if this is temporary for her - she’s the only one of her litter who arrived in her birthday suit, but they’re all in great health and getting ready for adoption now!

Nathan’s first 4 years of life have probably been spent living outdoors. He came to PAWS through our Community Outreach program covered in flea dirt but full of love, and we knew we could provide him with a life better than he could imagine! Today he arrived at our Adoption Center in search of a family and was really excited about the discovery of a cat tree. Nathan’s life is far more than survival now, he’s going to have so much fun living in a home and being smothered with love 💛 Meet Nathan and more adoptable cats at pawschicago.org/adopt
