Live Nation loves hiding behind the word “safety.” Ban fans from bringing their own lawn chairs, then charge them to rent one. Maybe the restriction is legitimate. But when the same policy that limits fans’ choices also creates a new revenue opportunity, people have every right to be skeptical. Apparently, even sitting down at a concert is another opportunity to squeeze money out of fans. At what point does “fan safety” become a convenient excuse for another cash grab?
