Could you share heaven with your political adversaries?
Mental heuristics shape how we process information, often without our awareness. In politics, they can influence whom we trust, what we believe, and how we view those who disagree with us. 🧵
Feeling right isn't the same as being right.
Political loyalty can reinforce our sense of belonging while making it harder to recognize truth in opposing views. But genuine peacemaking requires more than civility. It requires a willingness to look beyond our assumptions.
What if the political figure you most despise were to share the celestial kingdom with you?
Dan Ellsworth invites us to consider what this possibility means for how we approach disagreement, seek truth, and treat our political adversaries. publicsquaremag.org/politics…

All that we do in the temple is tied directly to the Lord Jesus Christ. Here we can become more holy, more like the Savior.
As a new Apostle of the Lord in 2017, I was grateful to visit this wonderful country. Sister Rasband and I were overjoyed to return this weekend as I fulfilled an assignment from the First Presidency to dedicate the Managua Nicaragua Temple.
Attending the temple is a deeply personal experience. One by one we present ourselves at the entrance and are invited into the Lord’s house.
One by one we receive ordinances and make covenants. One by one we may feel lifted, reminded, and renewed in our spiritual journey, receiving greater hope, and strength from the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Go often to the temple, let its light bless your whole life.
As an Apostle of Jesus Christ called to testify of Him and His name in all the world, I bear my solemn witness that He lives, and is directing the work of the ongoing Restoration.
Stay close to Him, and show your love by spending time in His hallowed house.

All of us can receive divine direction for our lives.
If you are doing your best to honor the covenants you have made with your Heavenly Father, you can act in faith knowing that you will receive His guidance in your life.
I was pleased to share my thoughts on this during a conversation with the director of social media for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during my time at BYU-Idaho last week.

None of us is untouched by the challenges of the world around us.
We live in a time of conflict, displacement, uncertainty, and division. In such a world, my mind often returns to one of the simplest and most powerful teachings of Jesus Christ:
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
How do you know if what you believe is true?
When people begin to struggle with their faith, they may question whether their spiritual experiences were actually genuine. Walker Wright explores why working through a faith crisis may begin with examining what we think we know. 🧵
In Nourishing the Roots: Seeking the Foundations of Latter-day Testimony, Wright examines the foundations of belief and the role of intellectual inquiry in understanding faith.
His approach raises a question: Can reason help create a context in which faith can thrive?
Wright shared: “[T]he fact that an experience can give you a reason to believe something doesn’t mean you have finished thinking about it.”
Wright explores how spiritual experience and intellectual inquiry can work together when navigating a faith crisis.

My conviction is simple: the world is better when faith reminds us that we are all children of God and, therefore, brothers and sisters to one another.
It was my privilege to deliver these remarks as the closing keynote at the Forum On Faith this year at New York University. I titled my message “A World of Faith” to align with the evening’s theme, “From Dialogue to Repair: What Faith Can Do for a Fractured World.”
As the waters of the Solimões and Negro Rivers flow together to form the mighty Amazon, so our distinct gifts, joined in faith and charity, can carry hope far beyond our individual reach.
Together, as children of God, we can become a force for good in the world and help build a future marked by belonging, service, and hope.
Do women have agency? And what does it mean to truly respect it?
Consent matters, but it doesn't answer every question about sexual ethics, human dignity, and the consequences of our choices.
A culture that treats every voluntary choice as empowering leaves little room to discuss whether those choices are ethical or good for the people involved.
How do we encourage women to exercise agency wisely without holding them responsible for the misconduct of others?
Within Latter-day Saint doctrine, agency also involves learning to choose well.
Amanda Freebairn explores why respecting women's agency requires both meaningful freedom and the wisdom to make choices that help them flourish.

Few truths bring greater hope, comfort, and joy than the knowledge that families can be together forever. This is at the heart of our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness.
Kristen and I spent a few moments with our available family members following general conference earlier this month. How grateful I am that meaningful relationships such as these can be eternal.

One beautiful motif that adorns the newly dedicated Miraflores Guatemala City Guatemala Temple is the monja blanca—the “white nun orchid.”
It is Guatemala’s national flower symbolizing peace, beauty, and tranquility, and a fitting choice to represent the feelings and emotions associated with a Holy House of the Lord.
I was honored to dedicate this temple unto the Lord. When we enter the sacred space within the Lord’s house, we are invited to leave the world behind and elevate our thoughts to a higher and holier plane.
How do predatory networks draw children into exploitation?
It often begins with vulnerability and the search for belonging. What follows can be a path toward manipulation, isolation, and demands for loyalty.
Recognizing the danger is only part of the challenge. How can adults and communities respond before exploitation deepens?
Protecting children requires more than awareness. It requires action, wisdom, and a willingness to help.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invite each other and all men and women everywhere to “come unto Christ.”
As a prophet has told us in the Book of Mormon: “I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption” (Omni 1:26).
