Further and higher education are in crisis. The government can no longer afford to look away.
This Budget must deliver fair pay, sustainable funding and a future for post-16 education.
Education is a public good. It’s time to treat it like one.
I recently visited Norway, one of the best countries I’ve ever been too. No joke! Great! Nice people, great beer, Oslo was beautiful. Everyone was educated and great infrastructure.
Anyone moving from
Norway to USA would experience a significant decrease in standard of living.
“Frankly, Norway sucks. Norway has become a s---house country, actually.”
Donald Trump said he would welcome immigrants from Denmark but not from Norway “because I didn’t get the Nobel Prize, so I don’t want anybody from Norway”.

If you’re a Big Tech Oligarch who builds an AI product that could threaten the human race? That product won’t be subject to 1 safety regulation.
That’s insane. We must regulate AI — NOW!

From Dundee to Edinburgh, Scotland’s universities need investment now || Roz Foyer
"Five weeks of strike action has begun in response to the University of Edinburgh's utter mauling of courses and people. Up to 1,800 job losses, in addition to 90 courses, could be on the line in an 'unprecedented' move, according to the University and College Union (UCU).
"Among those courses are a wide range of Scottish literature and history subjects. This is nothing less than an act of cultural vandalism from a 443-year-old Scottish institution.
"While the cuts are unprecedented, they are also unrequired.
"That’s because institutions are caught in a chasm of coordinated failure from both political and principal level. Professor Sir Peter Mathieson, who has subsequently announced his intention to step down in 2028, is paid well over £400,000 and has presided over an institution with more than £3 billion in reserves and £1 billion in capital assets.
"Why then are workers constantly the ones who must pay the price for the inadequacy of political funding and principal performance?" 👇
