First day of @tinytapeout workshop at the IEEE Latin America & the Caribbean Semiconductor Summit , in Panama. Congrats all who sculpted silicon and got to tape out! Big thanks to TAs--Andrea, Denis, Josue and Oriel--and to Fernando and @IEEEPanama for making it happen!
Agree. I've clashed with these people, who seem to know nothing other than how to convince the state to use its guns to force their ideas (and grow its own power), eg plans to artificially raise cost of electricity. Here, where it's all HYDRO power and they're forcing EVs on us.
I'd never heard of Transport Triggered Architecture (TTA) CPUs before--kinda cool--and @BreakingTaps managed to design and tapeout an actual (mostly?) working chip. A great intro to the topic and the architecture

Trust In The Age Of AI: Verifying Authentic Creations And Why You Should Care
Getting pretty hard to tell what's what, and I'd like to make sure what I'm consuming is real and supporting the creators I love rather than the flood of BS coming our way.

Anyone can steal your face. All this power is cool, but if you put anything online... oof. Well, there's a solution to this, something that can let you know if that really is from your favorite creator

Have been meaning to play with Mini MOSbius, an "analog FPGA", and Matt walks through the cool system he built around it.
Forget simulation - watch me build and speed up a circuit on silicon, live!
I'm using Mini MOSbius - it's like an FPGA but for analog.

oh, this'll be interesting--EM solvers right from FreeCAD
⚡️#FreeCAD #inthewild FreeCAD Microwave WB!
New workbench for RF and microwave engineering! This is an audacious WIP that is typically seen in the ecosystem. Current solver that works is openEMS but several others are slated. Props to Mike Volokhov

Phase noise is one of those RF topics that can get confusing fast.
Last year, I wrote a short article about it for the "Hardware Thrashers of X" zine. I’m publishing it here now for anyone who might find it useful.

Acoustic side-channel attack--letters from keyboard sounds--on an *MCU* @ 7ms, ~100 micro Joules per inference. The model was built just by feeding my data to a web service that spits out C for the microcontroller. Full build, demo and deets: youtube.com/watch?v=dbXCghmn…
Chipalooza #3 is on: design sweet open source analog ASIC circuits for GF180, win glory, fame, and prizes (well, maybe get paid) and have fun doing so. Open to proposals until the end of the month

Did not know Justin Feinstein: this was a fun read, very timely. Ate it in a single gulp.

Thunderstorms in Chicago had me stuck with an 11 hour layover at SFO... randomly popped over at @noisebridge where I got a warm welcome, a tour, a spot with a wifi and a number of cool convos. Now that's my kind of anarchy, what a cool place! Check it out if you're in Frisco.
Had an amazing time with everyone at @crowd_supply Teardown, in Portland, OR: many great chats, a room right in the heart of the venu (bit intense, that, but cool!), an amazing group at the Tiny Tapeout workshop. Hope to see you all next year :)
You can design your own chip. This month. With a laptop.

I love the deep theory but having rough frameworks to think big picture and seeing things in real life before tackling all the details and math really helps me a lot.
