THEY DO NOT JUST DIE WITHOUT US, THEY SUFFER HOURRENDOUSLY. Two days ago, Geoffrey walked into the garden of one of our foster homes, Barbara’s, and quite literally asked for help. A six-year-old, unneutered male cat. Another boy failed on the streets. We thought Geoffrey would need the usual: a health check, bloods, castration, vaccinations, a microchip and then the chance to start again. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Geoffrey has a diaphragmatic hernia. His abdominal organs have pushed through his diaphragm and are sitting up inside his chest, against his heart and lungs, when they should be safely inside his abdomen. It sounds horrific, because it is. But Geoffrey’s condition is operable. He has a chance. And this is where we desperately need you. We know we're always asking for money. We know there is always another emergency on our page. But that's because there genuinely is always another emergency at our door. Right now Joshua is in hospital fighting FIP. Four tiny kittens are in hospital after being dumped outside a pet shop with severe diarrhoea. We have colonies containing hundreds of cats still needing trapping and neutering. We currently have 48 end-of-life animals in our care — cats and dogs with kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, arthritis and other chronic illnesses who deserve comfort, medication and dignity for however long they have left. And while all of this is happening, we're trying to catch another cat in Ealing whose eye is literally hanging out. And now there is Geoffrey. Our phone doesn't stop . The emergencies don't stop. But our money does. Our veterinary bills are now regularly reaching £20,000–£30,000 A MONTH — if we're lucky. And that doesn't include the mountain of medication we use. It doesn't include food. It doesn't include litter. It doesn't include all the everyday costs of keeping hundreds of vulnerable animals safe. This is not sustainable. Protected Paws has become known as the rescue that takes the sick ones. The old ones. The broken ones. The ones requiring surgery. The ones other people simply cannot afford to help. We're incredibly proud of that. But being the rescue that says “yes” comes at an enormous cost. Because what are we supposed to do when a cat like Geoffrey arrives? Look at a six-year-old cat with a surgically treatable condition and say, “Sorry, the vet bill is too high”? Agree to euthanasia when an operation could give him years of life? We can't. These animals have already been let down by humans. We are just a small rescue fighting what increasingly feels like a huge war — and right now, we desperately need an army standing behind us. If you've ever respected the work Protected Paws does, followed one of our animals' stories, adopted from us, fostered for us or simply believed that these animals deserve better, please help us now. £2. £5. £10. Whatever you can spare. Thousands of people giving a couple of pounds could genuinely keep our doors open and keep us saying YES to animals like Geoffrey. And if you can't donate, please share this post. Sharing costs absolutely nothing and could put Geoffrey's story in front of someone who can help. We've also created a new Amazon Wishlist with the everyday essentials our animals desperately need. If you would rather send food, litter or supplies directly, that helps us enormously too every item donated means money can be kept aside for veterinary care. Please help us keep fighting. For Geoffrey. For Joshua. For those four tiny hospitalised kittens. For our 48 end-of-life animals. For the cat we're desperately trying to catch in Ealing. For the colony cats still waiting. And for the next animal who will inevitably need us tomorrow. We don't want to stop saying yes. Please don't let money be the reason we have to. Feel-Good Sunday Story Yesterday, we were contacted by Anna, our volunteer vet. She was at work at the London Cat Clinic, where a 3-week-old orphaned kitten had been brought in. They named him Solar. With no mother in sight, and after a thorough examination, the doctors agreed on a very special prescription: a mother cat. As many of you know, here at Protected Paws we’re blessed with several nursing queens who are lovingly feeding their babies in our care. We quickly put out a call on our foster chat, asking if any mum with kittens around 3 weeks old could take in another hungry little soul. That’s when Ivy, a sweet mother cat, raised her paw and said, “I only have one kitten, but I have plenty of teats. I'm sure he can join me and my precious baby, Ellie.” Kar, Ivy’s foster, rushed to Bermondsey to collect Solar at Ivy’s request. Ivy would’ve gone herself, but as she’s nursing Ellie, she couldn’t leave her unsupervised. Kar brought Solar home, and at first, little Ivy was a bit unsure. “Hmm... he smells different,” she seemed to say, with some suspicion. “Is he safe around my Ellie?” But Ivy heard Solar’s tiny cries and knew this was a baby who needed her. She opened her soft, furry arms and said, “Come here, Solar. Pop up to my milk bar!” And just like that, Ivy began feeding him for a solid three hours straight. Solar was absolutely starving and beyond grateful for his new mum. Ivy has fully accepted Solar as her own. Ellie, his new sister, is thrilled to have a playmate. And Solar? He gained 70 grams overnight. The average gain for a 24-hour period is just 14 grams. This little guy definitely took full advantage of the all-you-can-eat buffet. Now, Ivy, Ellie, and Solar are a happy little family. You’d never guess they weren’t blood relatives. They are bonded by love. The love of a tiny soul in need, and a mummy who chose to take him in. Thank you to Anna, the London Cat Clinic, Kar, and most of all, Ivy, for choosing Solar to be her son. We don’t deserve cats. 💛 We are feeding over a 100 hungry mouths at the minute, paying their vet bills, ensuring they have all vaccines, neutering, flea, worming, supplies, emergency surgeries please consider donating to help happy endings like Ivy, Ellie and Solar. We are broken, furious, and begging again Thank you to those who have donated so far. We are so grateful. But the animal abuse isn’t stopping. And without serious help, we are going to have to stop too Every day now feels like a nightmare we can’t wake up from We’re not just a rescue anymore. We’re a last resort for animals left to die after everyone else fails them This is Tammy. And her story should never have happened She was dumped like rubbish on the street A kind member of the public found her and took her to a vet That vet sent her away with sugar water. No flea treatment. No real care By the time the finder called us the next day, Tammy was already dying We rushed her to Elizabeth Street Vets where she was finally met by a team that took her seriously Her blood was so severely depleted from fleas that it didn’t even register on the machine Flea bite anemia isn’t bleeding out It is death by a thousand bites Fleas consume their blood faster than their bodies can replace it And it is entirely preventable A five pound flea treatment could have saved her life Had the people who dumped her just treated her mum and siblings Had the first vet done their job But they didn’t So here she is, in our care, again at the edge of death Tammy is being treated by Megan, a neonatal kitten expert and veterinary nurse She is not just experienced. She has taught herself how to care for critical neonates at an extraordinary level because this is what neglect demands She has spent years nursing the most fragile kittens through the brink of death Without her, Tammy would have had no chance Tammy is also alive today because of Lincoln, one of our brave blood donor cats, and his incredible mum Kate who rushed him in to give her a transfusion We are also beyond grateful to Genaro, the vet at Elizabeth Street, who acted quickly and treated Tammy’s case with the urgency it deserved That kind of care saves lives. That kind of vet restores hope But we are at breaking point Our vet bill is now over thirty thousand pounds We are out of foster homes Kerry is unwell and cannot keep pushing like she used to We are physically and emotionally spent We are tired Tired of watching animals suffer because people cannot be bothered to care Tired of cleaning up the aftermath of neglect Tired of begging while preventable deaths keep piling up This is real. This is happening Tammy is just one of many And we are terrified we will not be able to keep going Please help us Help Tammy Help us survive this storm Donate. Share. Foster. Support us in any way you can Because if we go under, animals like Tammy will have nowhere left to go Personal fundraiser for Tammy gofund.me/3b77d1ff If you would like to donate a one of payment or set up a direct debit please do so by: checkout.justgiving.com/c/34… Please note, the platform tip to just giving is optional and you can amend their recommended tip by clicking customize amount and inserting any amount you wish Or Paypal [email protected] 📩 If you wish to foster please fill in application forms.gle/WKmh5pGFJLgV9qsV9 Pray for Tammy and all the others we are so trying so desperately to help. #CatRescue #LondonRescue #AnimalRescue #RescueCats #KittenRescue #CatWelfare #AdoptDontShop #RescueIsLove #Fosteringsaveslives #HelpTheAnimals #NeonatalKitten #SaveTheCats #StrayCatsOfLondon #CatsOfLondon #SupportAnimalRescue #TammyTheKitten #StopAnimalNeglect #AnimalAbuseAwareness #StreetCatRescue #CatCharity #ProtectTheVoiceless #EmergencyVetCare #FleaAnemiaAwareness #DonateForGood #FosterACat #LondonAnimalCharity #UKCatRescue #RescueMission #SavingTammy #FightingForTheForgotten – at Lambeth, London

🐾✨ Introducing Lady Isobelle and her darling daughters, Miss Imogen and Miss India ✨🐾 Once humble estate dwellers (it was all terribly rustic), they were discovered by the fabulous Kerry & Nessie, who gallantly whisked them away to safety. Since then, they’ve been residing in Barnes, darling — and have, naturally, developed a taste for the finer things in life. 🥂🐟 Now at a sprightly 10 weeks old, Imogen and India are ready to find their forever homes. Mama Isobelle — graceful, affectionate, and far too refined for nonsense — is also seeking her perfect match. 💎 A gentle reminder from Her Ladyship: Please don’t forget about mum! Isobelle is every bit as deserving of a home as her adorable offspring. She can be homed solo, with one of her kittens, or even as a trio (for those with especially regal taste). 👑 🐱 What do posh cats desire in a home? – A sun-drenched bay window for dignified lounging – Staff (humans) available for scheduled fuss and chin tickles – Velvet soft furnishings, ideally in a tasteful neutral – Optional: a garden to promenade around like minor royalty All three are frightfully friendly, absurdly photogenic, and thoroughly prepared for stately living. Imogen has a slight leg deformity so would be better as a indoor pair. Apply within, darling — the Aristocats of Barnes await their next chapter. 🏡✨ Donate / Foster / Adopt / Share Adoption Application form: forms.gle/iog7E7nUNRuNij6k8 If you would like to donate a one of payment or set up a direct debit please do so by: checkout.justgiving.com/c/34… Please note, the platform tip to just giving is optional and you can amend their recommended tip by clicking customize amount and inserting any amount you wish Or Paypal [email protected] 📩 If you wish to foster please fill in application forms.gle/WKmh5pGFJLgV9qsV9 Website: protectedpaws.co.uk All animals are based in London and surrounding areas. SHARE TO EVERYONE, EVERY GROUP CHAT, EVERY PAGE Bert. This is what neglect looks like. This is what FAILURE looks like. And we are so, so tired of watching it happen again and again while people just walk by. Last night Bert came into our care but for YEARS he walked the streets like this. YEARS. In pain. Alone. Abandoned. LOOK AT HIS FACE. His eyes are like this because of severe, untreated injuries. His skin has pulled so tight while desperately trying to heal itself that his eyelids have deformed. He can’t blink. He can’t close his eyes. He can’t sleep. Imagine the constant pain. The irritation. The burning. Every second of every day, for YEARS. And what did people do? NOTHING. They watched hi walk past their windows, past their gardens, bleeding, broken, infected — and did NOTHING. HOW? HOW CAN YOU IGNORE THIS? Because he was just another stray? Just another ‘feral’? Just another nameless, unwanted animal not worth the effort? Well, not anymore. His name is Bert now. And while everyone else turned away, we won’t. Even though we are broken too  financially exhausted, emotionally drained, burnt out beyond words  we will not give up on him. He is in hospital now, finally receiving treatment. But we have no foster home for him. No money left in the pot. And more cats keep coming, more broken souls keep landing on our doorstep because no one else gives a damn. We are angry. We are devastated. We are DONE being polite. This cruelty is not bad luck. It’s not nature. It’s people’s neglect. People’s laziness. People’s failure to do something as simple as neuter a cat, call for help, open a door. And it happens EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Bert fought for years to stay alive while humans looked away. He deserves better. He deserves peace. He deserves safety. He deserves to finally close his eyes without pain. 💔 We urgently need a foster home in London. 💔 We desperately need donations to cover his mounting medical costs. We’re not asking for a miracle. We’re asking for BASIC compassion. Do what others wouldn’t. Help us save him. Please don’t scroll past. Don’t be one of them. ➡️ DONATE ➡️ FOSTER ➡️ SHARE We will not let him down. Will you? Welcome Sir Charles to the Protected Paws Family. Sir Charles' story is truly heartbreaking. This beautiful old boy, at 15 years of age, was handed into a veterinary practice — painfully thin, frail, and clearly defeated. The vets found a microchip and tried desperately to contact his owners, but no one ever came forward. Abandoned in his twilight years, with untreated hyperthyroidism, Sir Charles was staring down a very bleak future. The team at Medivet reached out to us, knowing if anyone could give him a chance, it would be us. In truth, we didn’t have the space, funds or capacity to take on another complex case. But we also knew that if we didn’t say yes, Sir Charles’ journey would have ended there. We simply couldn’t let that happen. Our fosters were already full, but with some quick rearranging, we made space for him in Maureen’s loving home. She welcomed him with open arms, and like all of us, she has already fallen head over heels for him. Sir Charles is suffering from hyperthyroidism — a condition where the thyroid gland overproduces hormones, leaving him dangerously underweight, anxious and vulnerable. He is also battling chronic diarrhoea, which often accompanies this condition. But the good news is: this is treatable. With surgery to remove the overactive thyroid, Charles can go on to enjoy many happy, comfortable years ahead. But we cannot do this without your help. We urgently need to raise £1,000 for the surgery and a further £1,000 for essential blood tests, hospital stays, medication and follow-up care. Sir Charles has already been let down once. We are determined not to let him be failed again. He deserves to spend his golden years full of good food, cuddles, and afternoons dozing in the sunshine. Please, if you can, help us give Sir Charles the future he deserves. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to saving him. Time is not on his side — but together, we can be. No-one loves Nero except us!  Nero will be a fantastic pet. He came to us after begging at doorway to get in and thankfully handed into our care. He has the same story as so many. Not neutered. Not chipped. Was owned at some point. He's the nicest cat you'll ever meet! He's absolutely adorable. Cat friendly. Human friendly. Lap cat. He's just the bestest boy. Yet not one application. Most likely because he's black. We are struggling so much rehoming our black animals and it's absolutely absurd!  Nero will bring you unlimited love and joy!  Please adopt him He's waited to long.  Donate / Foster / Adopt / Share  Adoption Application form: forms.gle/iog7E7nUNRuNij6k8 If you would like to donate a one of payment or set up a direct debit please do so by: checkout.justgiving.com/c/34… Please note, the platform tip to just giving is optional and you can amend their recommended tip by clicking customize amount and inserting any amount you wish Or  Paypal [email protected] 📩 If you wish to foster please fill in application  forms.gle/WKmh5pGFJLgV9qsV9 Website:  protectedpaws.co.uk All animals are based in London and surrounding areas.  All animals neutered, vaccinated, flead, wormed. Mojoto — Our Little Angel Some may remember the fragile bag of bones that arrived in our care a few weeks ago with her babies. She was dragged from a house and thrown into a carrier. Her tiny frame had no body fat left after feeding litter after litter. She was absolutely minuscule, and her body became extremely weak as a result. But thanks to the wonderful care of Maureen, Charis, and Callum, she has blossomed remarkably. She’s already gained nearly 2kg! Our sweet, precious Mojoto was soon healthy enough to be spayed, ensuring she never has to endure the ordeal of labour and serve as a constant milk machine again. We are fairly certain this would have been her final litter before her body could take no more. As her body has healed, so has her spirit. She’s been described as a gentle companion, affectionate, nurturing, and a delightful friend to have around. We are confident she can live happily with other cats and children. This ebony beauty is now searching for a forever home filled with endless love, snuggles, and—most importantly—Dreamies. She is approximately 1 to 2 years old and longs for nothing more than companionship. Could you open your hearts and homes to our Mojoto? Picture sipping a cocktail in the garden while she stalks insects and relaxes in the sunset. 🐾 Meet Annebelle 🐾 This gorgeous 2-year-old Scottish Fold has survived unimaginable cruelty. Like many pedigree cats, Annebelle was exploited for financial gain — used as a breeding machine in appalling conditions, with no regard for her wellbeing. The Scottish Fold breed, in particular, suffers due to its popularity and the physical traits that unscrupulous breeders try to exploit, often at the cost of the cat’s health and comfort. 😿 When Annebelle came into the care of Protected Paws, she was in a dreadful state. Thankfully, with the love and care of her amazing foster carers Maxi and Eve, she and her kittens were rescued and given a second chance. Today, Annebelle is a gentle, affectionate cat who deserves nothing but kindness. She’s good with other cats and children, and is now ready for a safe, loving forever home — one where she’ll never be used or neglected again. Could you be the happy ending Annebelle is waiting for? All animals neutered, vaccinated, flead, wormed. 💕 Love at First Meow 💕 Little Jasper's story started with a big rescue — found stuck inside a car engine, meowing his tiny lungs out! Thankfully, a kind man heard him, firefighters saved him, and he came to us at Protected Paws. But poor Jasper was feeling lonely and a bit lost. Then came Lottie — a gorgeous British Shorthair kitten who needed an emergency foster. Same age, same kitten energy. Silvia, one of our fosters, thought… hmm… maybe Jasper needs a girlfriend? We warned her: sometimes cats aren’t instant friends. But Jasper and Lottie clearly didn’t get that memo! Within 24 hours, Jasper went from shy and sulky to head-over-paws smitten with his fancy new girlfriend. 🧡🐾 Now they’re inseparable — playing, snuggling, and sharing secret kitten giggles. Jasper adores his classy tabby lady, and Lottie thinks her ginger prince is simply the cutest. These two are officially a package deal. 💞 💌 Apply now to adopt the cutest little lovebirds — Jasper & Lottie — and fill your home with double the purrs, double the cuddles, and double the joy!
