SAG-AFTRA's new contract is worth more than $1 billion over three years. But the union did not get one of its top priorities: a share of revenue from each streaming platform.
Instead, the union won a “streaming participation bonus” that will be worth about $40 million annually. bit.ly/3FSTYvn

As of 12:01 a.m. PT on Nov. 9, our strike is officially suspended! So proud of @sagaftra, our incredible leadership, Fran Drescher, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, and the thousands of members who stood in solidarity. Thank you to our sister unions who showed up in solidarity. Let’s get back to work! 🤍
Hats off to our negotiating committee... We have achieved a deal of extraordinary scope that includes “above-pattern” minimum compensation increases, unprecedented provisions for consent and compensation that will protect members from the threat of AI, and for the first time establishes a streaming participation bonus. 🎉

It is a privilege to picket in solidarity with @WGAWest seeing new friends and old, all of us laborers striking for fair pay and so much more. If it ain’t on the page, it ain’t on the stage, folks.

Here’s the simple truth: We’re up against a system where those in charge of multibillion-dollar media conglomerates are rewarded for exploiting workers. We’re fighting for the survival of our profession.

My message to the American people: You have the power to elect leaders who will defend and protect your rights.
And as the president said, with your vote, you can act. You have the final word.
So this is not over.

To make that happen, she needed her son to drive her more than 600 miles round trip. cnn.it/37nAY8g

It’s tempting to use the analogy of rats fleeing a sinking ship to describe the growing number of Republican elected officials starting to speak out against Donald Trump. But that's really not fair to rats, who tend not to be complicit in driving ships to the bottom of the sea.
