Atul Ruia returned to India after his education in the US to join his family's business and soon realized his passion for Real Estate, and he set out to create his own company. In 1995, Atul founded Phoenix Mills Limited, with a vision of building exceptional retail and commercial spaces in India. As his debut project, he transformed a rundown textile mill in Mumbai into a state-of-the-art shopping centre called "The Phoenix" which was an immediate success and set the standard for modern retail spaces in India. Atul continued to expand and Phoenix Mills Limited became known for its ability to transform old, dilapidated buildings into modern, vibrant shopping destinations. Today, the company owns and operates some of the most prominent retail and entertainment destinations in India, including high-end malls, commercial spaces, and hospitality projects. Phoenix Marketcity in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai are some of their projects which are among the largest shopping malls.
