With the latest fix in Veil core v1.4.5.0 your wallet will not be fooled and stalled on the chain. Getting fooled by a malicious attacker would be particularly problematic if you are a major miner or staker, or an exchange, a block explorer, or have funds to spend or receive.
The latest vulnerability fixed is where an attacker could relay a good block to you, if it is one of your peers, and it sends you a block before anyone else, but they might have marked it as a bad block leading your wallet to consider it bad, and therefore leave you stuck.
Attention all Veil wallet users running their own nodes.
It's time to upgrade your Veil wallet to v1.4.5.0.
This is a MANDATORY upgrade to close a vulnerability.
Some of you have not even loaded the previous mandatory update, leaving you vulnerable!

Pay careful attention to the following advice.

Following on from the AnonKyc deposits test, their system wants RingCT to RingCT only.
This is automatic if you are using a Veil light wallet.
If you are using the Veil Core wallet (graphical or command line) just make sure you have in your `veil.conf` file `autoconvert=1` to ensure that all (basecoin and CT_Stealth) balances flow to your RingCT balance, and
... when you have zerocoin to send to AnonKyc make sure you send them to your **own** stealth address first. Once your RingCT balance is sufficient you can then send them to the address AnonKyc has given you for your deposits.
Do *not* send a deposit to the deposit address unless you first complete the Deposit form on the exchange. This will create a deposit ID in their system, and will show the expected amount you advised them of, and it will give you a specific address to send RingCT to.
Maybe the address will be different every time? Maybe it will be shared with other depositors on a time basis? Just be sure to complete the deposit form before every deposit.
For any other Veil exchange follow this advice too.
Before any deposit to a new exchange, firstly check which coin type they accept. Most past exchanges have only accepted basecoin. New exchanges potentially could do the same.
Start with a minimal deposit for the first time. At AnonKyc the minimum is 2000 Veil.

Thanks, PythOracle! The original plan was to transition to Proof of Stake after the first year, but mining proved essential for security and for the community, and I especially like our three algos and the awesome Dark Gravity Wave Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm!

Tech that actually delivers privacy at the protocol level.
A community that never sleeps.
And a market cap that hasn't figured out what it's sitting on yet.
That gap between the first two bars and the last one?
That's where the opportunity lives.
Don't let a beautiful princess be lonely.

🆕 Introducing Etherscan Flow
• Turn a maze of transactions into one clear map: how funds moved, findings to back it - every hop verified onchain
• Build a flow from scratch or let an agent build it for you with the Etherscan Flow skill
• Share your findings on X and tag @etherscan!
This is a good reminder that "custody" of an IOU is not custody of the underlying asset. I looked up Rube Goldberg Machine and it sparked this conversation.

I wouldn't quite describe Veil staking as "passive". Literally generating blocks, but easy on your PC power.
>VEIL Project—hybrid consensus—(PoW/PoS)—privacy algorithms—passive staking income.
Following on from yesterday's release of Veil core v1.4.4.0 (mandatory update), here's a little about it on our main website, with a link to the update.

By the way, a new mandatory Veil release v1.4.4.0 has been published this morning.
This contains numerous bug fixes and should be installed by everyone.
