June is Seniors Month. Seniors are nearly twice as likely to need the assistance of a food bank on a long-term basis compared to adults under 65. Food bank data shows an increase of 21% in the proportion of visitors citing "Old Age Pension" as their primary source of income.

Excellent meeting with representatives from @FeedOntario and @ProjectSHARE_NF today at Queen’s Park to discuss how to tackle food insecurity, housing affordability, and poverty in our communities.
Representing Niagara with @PortCares & @TheHopeCentre in Queen's Park at this morning's @FeedOntario MPP breakfast. Thank you to all who joined us including MPP @Wayne_Gates . Food banks should be an emergency service not an essential service & we need system change to get there
