Film is Fabulous are a great organisation. Hearing about news shared on their Patreon Webinar: They're aware of 3 collections that contain episodes of "The Franchise". One collector is sadly terminally ill & his wife knows how to contact FiF. They know how to be sensitivešŸ˜‡

I am curious. If you had to choose between the Chris Chibnall years (2018-2022) or the RTD2 years (2023-25) who would you choose? I think the results would be closer than we think.

The Chibnall era is much better IMO… The lows of RTD2 are much lower… A truly dreadful era

This is it. We’re at the toughest part. Season Six covers the 24 hours of the events surrounding Jesus’ death. It was painful to shoot, and it’s painful to contemplate. But if there’s one thing I want you to take away from this season, it’s that Jesus chose this path. He even tells the apostles he could be rescued from it if he wanted. He chose surrender and humility and sacrifice. Knowing that should make this story a little less painful. Starting November 15th on @PrimeVideo, you’ll experience the climax of what’s been building for five seasons. Season Five was the powder keg. In Season Six, it explodes. —Dallas

RTD having another go at the fans, I see. I didn’t abandon those sci-fi franchises because they became ā€œwokeā€. I abandoned them because they’d become utter shite. I’m embarrassed to admit I was excited when I heard he was coming back to Doctor Who. That aged well. God forbid he even considers that he got it wrong and it was his baffling creative decisions that drove viewers away.
Russell T. Davies, in his new memoir, The Queerest of Folk, attacks fans for abandoning sci-fi properties, which he calls a "casualty of the culture war." ā€œDoctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, they’re all being brought down by contempt." Are fans the issue for noticing, or is putting divisive politics into these shows in the first place the problem?

Oh that’s right, RTD, it’s our fault you wrote dreadful scripts and the audience abandoned the show. It’s our fault your lazy writing & arrogance botched the shows Chance to be huge worldwide. You drove life long fans away. YOU did that. Well done… #DoctorWho

Such a strange decision from Amazon. They had the original creative team writing a whole new series expanding on the STARGATE UNIVERSE that the shows millions of fans would have no doubt loved and supported… Then dropped it for reboot that will most likely die on its arse… 😢
EXCLUSIVE: "WandaVision" creator Jac Schaeffer is developing a new "Stargate" TV series for Amazon MGM Studios. This will be Amazon's second attempt at a new "Stargate" series. It was previously reported that Martin Gero was working on a new TV entry in the sci-fi franchise, but that project ultimately did not move forward. wp.me/pc8uak-1lHVXB

This is The best news I’ve heard for years… #DoctorWho
Russell T Davies categorically said on the Jo Whiley Show that he's not interested in doing Doctor Who for a third time.

My copy of RTD's Memoir arrived today; The Queerest of Folk. A few quick observations that stood out to my on his chapter about Bad Wolf/Disney 'Doctor Who'. - When Disney agreed to co-produce the show, the execs had never watched 'Doctor Who' and didn't know anything about it. They didn't even know about 'Blink'. - RTD cites as one of the biggest reasons the era didn't work (or "destroyed the profile of the show", in his words) was because of the online leaks. Needless to say, I disagree. - RTD had already written Episode 1 of 'The War Between The Land and the Sea' before the reveal of 'Legend of the Sea Devils' (January 1st 2022). Completely unrelated creatively. - RTD admits it was "a confused launch" having the new era begin with a 60th Anniversary trilogy. "I think that fucked it from the start". - Ncuti Gatwa's casting announcement before the BAFTA TV Awards was done to pre-empt a potential leak (I called this at the time!). - '73 Yards' and 'Dot and Bubble' were relatively last minute writing jobs. Due to delays filming 'Sex Education', Ncuti started 3 months later than planned so these Doctor-lite scripts were written. They were not originally in the 8-episode pitch sold to Disney and there is no mention of what the original Episode 4 and Episode 5 were. - Reflecting on his 2 Series, in particular the story of Ruby Sunday, if he has regrets or notes he doesn't mention them. He considers the run to be "magnificent". - The show's budget was significantly lower than 'His Dark Materials'. The crew had to learn "how to downscale". - There's an odd moment where he mentions "fixing problems on the spot" and then immediately talks about casting Belinda and "parking" Ruby. Was Millie Gibson considered a problem to be fixed? This is never elaborated on. - 3 Episodes of Season 3 were fully written. 1) A Great Fire of London story by Laurence Clark and Jack Thorne. 2) A Brutal NASA Space Station Story by Lydia Adetunji. 3) A "lovely" episode set in a Manchester Council Estate by Sharma Angel-Walfall. RTD wanted Juno Dawson to write another episode and was in talks with Kate Herron and Briony Redman to bring Jonathan Groff back as Rogue. "That sequel was forever getting postponed". - Season 3 would have ended with a "Dalek four-part epic". - There's no mention of 'The Reality War' reshoots. "We knew Ncuti was leaving", he claims, like it was always the plan. - Regarding the 2026 Xmas Special Press Release; "I allowed my name to go on a press release that I actually felt kind of queasy about. That'll teach me!". - "I didn't even get a contract to write the Christmas Special until the end of March 2026" (it was announced in Oct 2025). - "I'll spend a year working on this, but it'll all be leaked before it gets on air...why bother?" - According to Russell, the timeline was; Announce Xmas Special, Put The Show Out To Tender, Then Make The Special To Bridge the Gap, Fulfill The Tender. There's a lot more in the chapter (which follows a previous 214 pages of information) but those are the things that stood out to me. RTD may have his own private opinions, but in this book, it seems he has no creative regrets.

I think it’ll be the worse outcome if Pete McTighe gets to be showrunner… Nothing against him at all but the show needs fresh blood and a whole new take… None of the old guard… Bring in the new… #DoctorWho
This makes it so depressing if it ends up just being Pete McTighe & BBC Studios 😭 Surely the BBC will have common sense & be like yeah there’s no way we can go with Pete considering the other names who are interested. His pitch would have to be incredible to sideline everyone.

The Batman Saga News
@TheBatmanSagaNWOct 6
I was saddened by how heartless some people were yesterday. Just so you know, they had been filming almost everyday since June, including this Sunday, the day before the announcement. A sudden pause like that means it’s URGENT. Family always comes first. He is a human being. He has a life outside of making movies. @mattreevesLA has been working on this film since 2022. He’s been writing this movie with Mattson Tomlin for almost 3 years and even with this personal issue going on he said he wanted to perfect the script as much as truly possible. He then spent another year on pre-production trying to perfect every aspect of this movie. A lot of directors would have walked away under this insane pressure. He stayed because he CARES about this character and about making the movie. DC Studios clearly believes in him. Please let him take his time. I know you all want to see this movie. I mean heck, I run this news account just because of how insanely excited I am for it. But I also want to see his FULL VISION. There will be a day where people will regret what they said after they realize what he went through. I hope that in the end, we will forget about this even happening & that everything turns out okay for him and his family. Please believe in Matt Reeves as he is making this film for you. šŸ¦‡
