Yes let’s spend 150 billion on 6 refineries that would only lead to the closure of 6 other ones. Great idea. We already produce excess diesel and gas. Just because we are stupid enough to continue going to war in the Middle East now lets puts companies out of business to feed the war machine.

Trump should direct the DOE to build six oil refineries on U.S. Govt property, with around the clock construction schedules, and waive all permitting requirements. They should be built regionally around the country so they can provide a supply of gasoline and diesel into the economy. If private industry cannot meet the need, then the gasoline production industry needs to be treated no differently than other public utilities.
