I know most of us are excited to see the team play today, and yeah, I am too, especially after Iraola said we’ll be seeing most of the players we haven’t seen much this season.
Here are the players I’m expecting to start:
1️⃣ Mamardashvili: Iraola already confirmed he’ll start. I’ll be watching to see if he’s improved his distribution and confidence on the ball.
2️⃣ Araujo + Gomez: I think we could see this pairing today, mainly to give Jacquet a much-needed rest.
3️⃣ Tsimikas + Frimpong: Both need to put in impressive performances because the jury is still out on them. Tsimikas was taken off at half time after a below-par performance in the last game, and we all know about Frimpong’s struggles. They both have something to prove today.
4️⃣ Nyoni + Mac Allister: I wouldn’t be surprised if Iraola uses this as another double-pivot experiment against what should be a combative Spurs midfield.
5️⃣ Szoboszlai: This is the one I really want to see. Give him the No. 10 role and let’s see what he can produce. If he struggles, I’d love to hear from all the tacticos who have been blaming Wirtz for our lack of creativity. 😂
6️⃣ Rio + Gakpo: I think we could see this wing pairing since neither started the last game.
7️⃣ Koumas: I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Koumas starts ahead of Chiesa today tbh.

They’re two complete different profile of midfielders so the comparison doesn’t even hold any weight for me
The right juxtaposition should be any version of Bellingham and prime Dele Alli.
