Anyway, remember that time David Lynch read out Bob Iger’s mailing address on Letterman in an effort to convince him not to cancel TWIN PEAKS

With no date this is either Big Thunder 1980 or EPCOT in 1982 construction badge. I think it is EPCOT but maybe @TomKMorris can tell us if it is EPCOT. Yes, I had to Photoshop out my Social Security number as Disney used it for IDs and expenses reports back then. PICO stood for Project Installation Coordination Office.

In honor of Space Mountain's 50 years, I re-post this picture of one of the opening day control relays. One of the Florida engineers sent it to me when the Ride Control System was replaced in the 1990's by redundant Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) that replaced all these relays. We had done a similar replacement to Disneyland's Space Mountain Ride Control System in 1988.

This “telephone relay” was one of many relays that controlled the original Space Mountain Florida ride until the 1990s when they were replaced with a computer. They sent me this one as a souvenir. It’s on my workbench in the garage. It’s a 4PDT relay.

This is truly a delight of a book and spans all sorts of interesting anecdotes and topics. Fantasia, the Olympics, nickels on a plane, Disney's America, and more! Highly recommend. Make a nice meal of some recipes inside and curl up with a nice crock of soup or chili and enjoy!

One of the most fascinating Walt Disney films that "never was" is Rainbow Road to Oz.Walt had wanted to make an Oz film his whole life but MGM beat him to the first book.He bought the rights to the remaining Baum books but an animated version was cancelled. This was plan B.

A friendly reminder that in his book, Bob Iger congratulated himself for making Roy E. Disney FEEL like he respected him, then went on to air a bunch of his personal struggles, dismiss his respect for legacy as being totally stuck in the past, and didn't mention his death at all.

About the Golden Record and the message from Jimmy Carter, who was president at the time of launch: go.nasa.gov/4gQfpOa
The cover of the Voyager Golden Record, a circular, golden plate with various etchings. In the upper left-hand corner is an easily recognized drawing of the phonograph record and the stylus carried with it. The information in the upper right-hand portion of the cover is designed to show how pictures are to be constructed from the recorded signals. The drawing in the lower left-hand corner of the cover is the pulsar map previously sent as part of the plaques on Pioneers 10 and 11. It shows the location of the solar system with respect to 14 pulsars, whose precise periods are given. The drawing containing two circles in the lower right-hand corner is a drawing of the hydrogen atom in its two lowest states. Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech

We are saddened by the passing of President Jimmy Carter, who contributed to the Voyager Golden Record currently traveling through interstellar space. Carter's message of peace continues to reach across the "vast and awesome universe."

I need to have a PCUSA fundraiser, and I have plenty of duplicate Disney docs/ephemera to auction, but I don't know if anyone out there is buying this stuff besides me. Is ANYONE in the market for old newsletters/magazines/etc? I don't want to list all this stuff if no one cares.
