Tariffs seem to have slightly increased prices for little benefit.
I expected the Trump tariffs to be a disaster. I'm puzzled by what I'm not seeing.
They don't seem to have harmed the US economy in any way I can notice with my eyeballs or in the statistics. Business activity is booming, unemployment seems to be low, household consumption is up, stock market seems to be doing fine.
Is my whole model of trade and economics broken? How is he getting away with this?

Hi, I’m a 1990’s liberal who is currently half way through obtaining a modern liberal education degree.
They have handed me resources that bash our founding fathers. The smallest amount of digging revealed those resources were written by anarchists.
They have handed me resources about inclusion from back in the 80’s. Demographics have changed drastically since then so we’re overshooting the mark by treating outdated metrics as contemporary.
They have handed me resources on identity that ignore identity defining values like hard work, integrity, and honesty in favor of shallow concepts like your favourite song, your skin color, and your hobbies.
When you read about your local dept of education indoctrinating your children, it is the truth. It is a combination of mal-aligned principals, reinventing the wheel, and well-intended sheep.
I exist to support a counter movement. I changed careers and pursue this degree so that I can see what it’s like on the inside and be the change I want to see in the world. There is hope. Many of my classmates align with what I say in class. We can overcome this.
