"There are real gambles with a vision that promises a 'city' within a 15-minute walk," writes @ProfRachelM. "Having a lot of retail space within a 15-minute walk does not do anyone any good if it is vacant or inactive," via @bloomberg buff.ly/4cfCO9B

Does the aspirational goal of a 15-minute city really work everywhere? The GSD's @ProfRachelM argues that, in a world with shrinking demand for retail space and less localized employment markets, the 15-minute city isn't economically realistic.

Thanks @DavidZipper !
A thoughtful, much-needed critique of the 15-Minute City, from @ProfRachelM:
"This kind of approach could exacerbate already troubling economic and resource inequalities in cities. Access and convenience, as a policy, would be a privilege."
