The real historical question isn't: Were some Scots involved?
They were, and in the case of absentee slave-owners it was around 0.2% of the Scottish population.
The question is: Under whose sovereign authority were these Scots born individuals acting?

Listen as the Chief Fire Officer for Scotland destroys BBC Scotland's political narrative about the Cairngorms wildfire. Major incident was *not* declared too late. UK Govt offer of ground support was *not* asked for. Scottish Govt correct to decline. Air support was requested.
BBC Scotland indulged and circulated emotionally driven claims by a handful of locals who were not firefighting experts. These claims were then used to attack the Scottish Govt with a political reporter being despatched to the scene.

Interesting-Scotland raises £98bn but independent Norway raises £109bn. 🇳🇴 spend on public services is £29k per head vs 🏴 £22k. Perhaps a better & more realistic comparator for @BBCScotlandNews to use if wanting to project iScot scenario? Also 🇳🇴 $2tr in the bank. 🇬🇧 debt £3tr

In 2014 British Civil Servants based in Scotland actively tried to prevent Scotland become an independent country: xitter.cf/LiberationScot/status/… Yet they tell us Scotland is not a colony of England.

Keep doing this. Nothing personal on the individuals involved; Scotland is a famous move on an English career path. But we need to identify just how many of such public services, educational establishment, civil service posts and Scottish NGOs are occupied by people brought in from outside Scotland, in particular from the nation colonising us, that of England. An analysis would be deeply revealing of another essential aspect of colonial governance and cultural engulfment.

🚨 NEW: @DanNeidle claims Scotland’s 48% tax rate has lost public revenue. But is this actually true?
My new deep-dive says no – Dan’s analysis doesn’t prove anything.
It’s a long read, so buckle up 🧵

🚨 EXC: NHS England has suppressed the work of investigators carrying out dozens of national clinical audits. NHSE has stopped investigators alerting media, watered down recommendations and limited the way their reports are written, published and used: thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/a…

What was actually said is below.
"The UK's Oil and Gas will run out in 5 years, researchers warn."
So what you said wasn't actually said by the BBC post we referenced. Was it ? @iScotNews

This guy gets it.
Why is this so hard for the colonialist English to understand?

From Prof Alf Baird:
Recent articles in The National questioning “Why are SNP figures not making a compelling case for independence?”
It seems as if intellectuals on the left, including Shafi, Riddoch etc, still ignore postcolonial theory, which tells us the answer, as Fanon explained:
– the dominant national party ‘makes an accommodation with colonialism’;
– the party becomes ‘infiltrated’ by colonial actors;
– the party elite ‘feathers its nest’ and ‘builds up its pensions’;
– it ‘takes the movement up a blind alley’;
– the party elite refuse to act on the most urgent matter of ‘freeing the people’ because they ‘fear the colonizers tanks and planes’;
– it ‘attacks the radicals in the party’ also ‘using colonial forces’ to punish them;
– it ‘behaves like a gang’ and appoints its friends to key positions;
– the party ‘depends on slogans’ and leaves the matter of independence’ to future events’;
– the party ‘becomes calcified’, immobile, unable to move forward;
– it lacks any ‘innovation’ on the cause;
– it ‘delays independence’ which is what leads ‘to conflict’;
– it ‘ruptures the movement’;
– it works ‘to keep the racket going;
– the elite become ‘colonial watchdogs’;
– and, finally, once the people figure out they have been duped, ‘the national party disintegrates’, which is what we are seeing now.
