A big day today. My last day at UEA, after over 37 years. It’s been a privilege and a pleasure to be associated with such a fine Law School, and to work with such brilliant colleagues, and such bright, enthusiastic students. I shall miss it, and them, enormously.

Incredible! Lindsay Whittle won the election for Plaid Cymru in Caerphilly with a solid majority, yet the English/UK media swarmed around the Reform UK candidate instead. Only the excellent @TeleriGlynJones wanted to speak with the actual winner. Says everything you need to know!

By tomorrow morning, none of these people should be in jobs; • Liam Manning • Ben Knapper • Neil Adams • Zoe Webber The club are deep into the territory of relegation to League One becoming a real and likely possibility. This is truly disgraceful and I urge all of you to take part in the @1902Group protest next Saturday if you’re attending the game but feel free to not go because the club don’t deserve your hard earned money. It’s disgusting how they’ll choose to keep ignoring the fans for both on and off the pitch decisions. No communication in the real aim for this season. Lies about aiming for promotion instead. No communication to fans for moving seats. This is just another horrendous evening in this nightmare of a season. To the Attanasios, now it is your time to sort it out and get rid of these clowns who are unworthy of running the club. #NCFC

Are you insane? Encouraging unnecessary flights in a climate crisis? I’m a long-term SWT supporter & I deliver your magazines in my area as a volunteer, but I’m now rethinking my position on both. This is very, very poor.

I wonder, will it be made crystal-clear to the well-meaning people who will be asked to sponsor these climate-unaware thrill-seekers that, of the £360 each one of them is required to raise, no less than £230 will be syphoned off to meet the costs of the activity? For shame, SWT.

I now feel grubby when I use this site, so I’m steadily migrating to the place where the sky is blue (with the same handle). Hope to see you lovely people over there!

Must be the first time in history that Reform uk didn’t have a spokesperson available for the media today😅 But of course the BBC managed to find a way. We heard from right wing Farage-supporting Montie “balanced” by digging out someone even further right’s blog 🤦‍♀️ #r4today

Woke up to Musk wanting to colonise the UK… Wonder what UK ‘patriots’ will make of their space daddy now.

The new centre ground of our migration debate is going to be between Nigel Farage & Tommy Robinson if the media gets its way. Labour needs, desperately, to get a grip on the narrative & stop chasing the tails of the far & further right. #r4today

In a few months when people wonder how Elon Musk developed such an outsize influence over British politics, it’ll be worth noting the contribution of push notifications like this from the national broadcaster.

Lucky man. Not only does he get to play the game he loves on the global stage, he can speak in public, wear what he likes, go to university, work where he wants, he can even stand by a window. Unlike Afghan women and girls.
The debutant Ismat Alam steps up and puts on a solid batting effort to get to his maiden half-century in Test cricket. 👏 Excellent knock from the youngster! 👍 #AfghanAtalan | #ZIMvAFG | #GloriousNationVictoriousTeam

The only maiden that the Afghanistan Cricket Board are celebrating. The rest can go to hell, apparently.
