Many thanks to videographer Alfie Ennis for putting together this video from the launch of the Making of Marlowe exhibition!
The exhibition has been on for a month now, and there's still plenty of time to get down to the @The_Beaney to explore for yourself!
Pleased to see it out at last! Digging down into the lived experience and ways of thinking that objects, fabrics, scents etc brought with them onto the stage, in short chapters based around particular things (with colour images!).
Beds, perfumes, doublets, torches, lutes, clocks, handkerchiefs… Who owned these objects in early modern England? How were they used?
@ProfCatherineR's 'Shakespeare's Objects' explores 33 significant objects in full colour illustration.
Out today! bit.ly/4psA8Nx

Very much looking forward to these discussions!

#Hulked immersive sound walk - evocative, moving and at points faintly eerie. Really enjoyable, and perfect setting and weather! Thanks @Jeremy_D_Scott

“The arts are not the cherry on the cake — they are the cake.”
Opening a debate in the House of Lords yesterday, Melvyn Bragg said the UK should realise the full potential of the arts to transform our economy and society.
Beyond Form: Lines of Abstraction 1950-1970 @TCMargate Really interesting international stories about women’s making, by hand, at kitchen tables, having to clear their art away at mealtimes - lots of textiles too!
Packed carols at Wychling church with wonderful music - voice lost as usual - now it’s starting to feel like Christmas!
