Guess it’s a case of “You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave” (guitar solo)

Homeward bound from an enormously enjoyable #ASERA55 Organising committee Jared Carpendale, Carrie Swanson and Cathy Buntting did a superb job: every detail was not only taken care of but showed real thoughtfulness Thanks to the team, and onward to #ASERA56 @ASERAeducation

If you want my quiz you’ve got it
Four experts match wits and dodge witticisms from host Tom Gleeson. This week's topics: Spider-Man, Cheap Trick, Marbles, plus Paint and Pigments! It's going to be a messy episode of #HardQuiz. @ABCTV & iview Wed 8pm.

Could this *be* any more obviously photoshopped?
What's going on with Adam Bandt?? Why does he so often side with the Thug? Surely Greens voters are turned off by this strategy. #LNPNeverAgain

Okay, this is a post for the PhD parents🫣 After zooming out (offline) all afternoon (and drive our parents crazy)… The siblings are just having too much fun catching up @TabethaSpiteri 🫢😬 But honestly, blame the NZ snacks 🍪 They are way too yum (distracting)🫢 #ASERA55

Gonna use #ASERA55 for my posts about the ASERA conference over the next couple of days because in 2024 we’re at the 55th annual conference of the Association I’m a relative newcomer: my first ASERA was ASERA29 in Darwin in 1998 @ASERAeducation

I don’t spend a lot of time on X (nee Twitter) these days, for all those reasons everyone knows, but the 2024 Australasian Science Education Research Association (ASERA) @ASERAeducation conference is happening at Massey University in Auckland this week

It’s a conference I habitually live-tweet (I refuse to say ‘live-X’ because that sounds like something quite different!) and I plan to do that again this year to share with members who can’t make it and science educators globally

I know, I know, “This is not an airport, you don’t need to announce your departure” But I will, just so all my @ASERAeducation friends and colleagues know not to expect me to… Live-X next year’s conference Sadly, Elon has killed this platform to death See you elsewhere

Very cool for PhD students to hang out with legends in our field, and it’s one of the ways we reproduce ourselves and prepare for the future
