LSU owe brian Kelly 54 mill. Texas A&M owed jimbo 77 mil. So no one wants to cap coaches salaries to protect schools?? No, its the players fault!
Just got back from a few days in DC meeting with lawmakers. The Protect College Sports Act is not perfect but we need to end this chaos now. We need stability or we will lose sports and lose opportunities for student athletes.

You all love a good false equivalency. Governor Shapiro wasn’t on GameDay to lobby for legislation. He was on GameDay because the show hadn’t been to Pittsburgh in 30 years and he was there to talk about the city and football. Secondly: I don’t have an issue with Ted Cruz being on GameDay. I have an issue with the brazen way the network’s signature college football show is lobbying for a bill without at all addressing how this bill completely undermines college players. If you’re going to have an honest conversation about the bill, then an opposing side should be invited to the conversation. This bill has been developed with no real input from CURRENT players. The NCAA and its power brokers have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying Congress because they are trying to avoid the consequences of decades of greed and exploitation. The NCAA is selling the narrative they need help because college football is in chaos. They don’t need help. They need to negotiate. WITH. THE. PLAYERS.
Replying to @jemelehill
You had nothing to say when Gameday hosted a Democrat governor last season... xitter.cf/JonnyRoot_/status/2098…

so much of the "never forget" propaganda has been fixated on race and ideology, meanwhile Jon Stewart has never fucking given up on the 9/11 first responders and putting that never forget energy into demanding action to help them
JON STEWART: “They began covering their ass 3 weeks after 9/11… There was poison in the air, on the ground, on your pets/clothes… THE CITY KNEW. Rather than limit the damage, they covered it up… After 9/11, business will never be usual again.”

Thursday night lineup being Martin, Living Single and New York Undercover was magical. We used to be a proper country.
32 years ago today, “New York Undercover” premiered on the Fox network airing 4 seasons

Should there be protections…yes. A CBA would go a long way but we have made positive strides. They just need to be fine tuned.
Look at the massive crowd behind them and tell me with a straight face that college sports are in "absolute chaos". The "chaos" is that (mostly black) athletes now have bargaining power and white coaches and sports industry execs hate it. 1/ Want proof? Here are the numbers:

Will all PWIs have to now answer for the PWI fraternity culture because of Penn State?
JUST IN: 13 Penn State fraternity brothers charged with running a major cocaine trafficking ring, with some pledges allegedly forced to cut & package cocaine as part of their “indoctrination” into the frats.

Everyday @jemelehill , @BaizeShephard , and @KevOnStage unknowingly muster their strength to do the Sisyphean task of restoring my faith in humanity, and everyday the rest of y’all push that boulder back down the hill.
Pretty simple. The right is constantly inventing totally crazy scenarios of gotcha moments that won’t happen to create a sense of hysteria. Here are the facts: — A trans woman has never played in the WNBA. In 30 years. — Trans women are barred from competing in women’s sports in the NCAA and the Olympics. — 29 states have banned trans girls participation in women’s sports K-12. — The Supreme Court ruled states can exclude trans girls from participating in women’s sports. Y’all won. Y’all got it. So why is the right still crying and whining about an argument that is backed by law and policy at virtually every level? Wait, I have an answer. They want to erase trans existence period and no amount of exclusion, degradation, or denigration will ever be good enough for them. SO they create these dumb, illogical, stupid-ass scenarios because there actually isn’t enough there for them to make a salient point. It’s fear-mongering bullshit that is designed to create a hostile environment for trans people. It’s weak.

Greg Oden says losing basketball helped him find himself “It is enough. Don’t get me wrong, I would love $100,000,000 in the bank account. But right now, we got a beautiful home. My daughter just graduated fourth grade. My wife’s doing her thing.” “When I really had to assess myself, I really started realizing, and I was intentional about this when I retired, trying to figure out who I was. Everything was always about the sport.” “But then when it was taken away from me, who am I? I didn’t even know what I liked. If I take alcohol and partying out of the equation, and basketball, I’m literally a newborn baby again. So I really sat down and figured out, what are some things that I like?” “I had to assess myself, and I realized I was a mentor. I really like doing this. I really like talking. I really like helping the younger generation, or even helping others.” “For the past seven years, I’ve been teaching financial literacy to athletes. I enjoy doing stuff like that.” “Now I’m trying to get in the public speaking space because my story is not a basketball story. It’s a life story.” “I’m fulfilled in everything that I’m doing right now, but I know there’s more to come.”

There needs to be a horror genre for the Emmy’s. It was a great year for horror and speculative work. Welcome to Derry, After Earth, and others should be acknowledged for their brilliance.
