Yesterday in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Shoga, @shoga_francis was joined by the Co-Patron of the Movement, Shettima Kashim Shettima Jr., alongside the Deputy Directors-General and members of the National Working Committee, to officially launch the North East City Boy Movement Employment Programme. The initiative represents a significant investment in the economic future of young people across the North East. It is designed to create meaningful opportunities for thousands of young entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary support, resources and platforms to establish, grow and sustain their businesses while achieving greater economic independence. The programme also places a strong emphasis on education and digital inclusion. As part of the initiative, students are being supported with laptops and tablets to ease their studies, expand their access to digital learning resources and enhance their overall educational experience. By supporting entrepreneurship, empowering students and expanding access to digital tools, the North East City Boy Movement is contributing to the emergence of a generation of young Nigerians equipped with the skills, confidence and opportunities to transform their ideas into sustainable enterprises and meaningful livelihoods. The message is clear: when we empower young people, we empower communities; when we create opportunities, we strengthen the future. Empowering Young People. Creating Opportunities. Building a Stronger North East. Thank you, Capacity DG, APC PCC for setting the records straight in the face of Alh. Atiku’s persistent misinformation and quite ignorant policy gaffes this week. We can all see that the desperation of the ADC candidate and his fair-weather travellers is now in full bloom. I know they will call it strategy. After six attempts and six losses, three at party level and three at the general election, I suppose every new manoeuvre needs a respectable name. Hence the lies, denials and counter denials, and the amnesia from the camp of the ADC. However, Nigerians have seen this movie before. By 2027, the Nigerian people will make it seven. Also, thank you, DG, for sitting down with us earlier yesterday. Always a pleasure to listen, learn and strategise ahead of the work before us to re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Nigerians came together with extraordinary determination to build one of the strongest grassroots political movements our country has ever witnessed. The City Boy Movement is no longer just a campaign platform. It has become a family. It has become a national network of committed patriots. It has become a symbol of resilience, loyalty, and purposeful engagement. Across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, we have continued to build formidable structures. We have mobilized thousands of volunteers. We have inspired young people to participate in governance. We have defended democratic ideals. We have amplified the message of progress Barr Seyi Tinubu @STinubu Grand Patron City Boy Movement @CityBoyMedia

I am happy to report that the Federal Executive Council today approved the comprehensive reform of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the first holistic review of the Scheme in its 53-year history. For over five decades, the NYSC has remained a powerful symbol of national unity and service. Today, we have taken a bold step to preserve that legacy while preparing it for the future. We are transforming the Scheme into a platform that not only unites Nigeria but also equips our young people with the skills, experience and opportunities they need to thrive in a fast-changing world. The approved reforms will reposition the NYSC as a skills-driven, productivity-focused and youth-empowering institution that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision of building a $1 trillion economy. Some of the landmark reforms include: 1. A technology-driven call-up process. 2. Risk-sensitive deployment to better protect corps members. 3. A redesigned six-week orientation programme with stronger focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, digital skills and specialised career streams. 4. Skills-based primary assignments aligned with academic background and career pathways. 5. Modern governance with civilian operational leadership while the military continues to provide security support. 6. Improved camp standards through a national grading and certification system. 7. A new graduation ceremony to replace Passing Out Parade, and redesigned NYSC uniform that reflect professionalism and national pride. This reform journey began in 2025 through a broad-based, multi-stakeholder review involving the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Federal Ministry of Education and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination. Today, that hard work has received the endorsement of the Federal Executive Council. Council also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to commence the amendment of the NYSC Act and its regulations to give legal effect to these reforms and enable their implementation. This is more than a reform of an institution. It is an investment in Nigeria's greatest asset, our young people. The future of the NYSC begins now, and it is brighter, more relevant and more impactful than ever. #NYSCReform #YouthDevelopment #RenewedHope #BuildingTheFuture

APC EXTENDS SALE OF FORMS, SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at its meeting held on Thursday at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has approved an extension of the timelines for the sale of aspirants’ Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, as well as the submission of completed forms for the 2027 General Elections. Addressing journalists after the NWC meeting, the Party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, stated that the sale of forms will now close at midnight on Monday, May 4, 2026, while the submission of completed forms and accompanying documents has been extended to midnight on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Previously, the sale of forms was scheduled to run from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2, 2026, while the last day for the submission of completed forms and accompanying documents was Monday, May 4, 2026. Hon. Meseko said the need to extend the dates became necessary because of the public holiday observed nationwide on Friday and to accommodate the high level of interest from aspirants.
