Television. You are describing television.
After six episodes, #WandaVision still feels far too much like an inflated feature film that just keeps dragging out its story via inconvenient weekly installments. Here's why: bit.ly/3aeX2TL

Got some extremely valuable beta feedback about our second #book. Funny how we can't see confusing sentences and dialogues in our own #writing, because it's all in our heads already. #amwriting #amediting

"You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write."
--Saul Bellow
Write the big parts. Write the cool things. Write your twist. Don't start with the "boring" stuff. Write what makes you excited.

An oldie but a goodie:
"Substitute 'damn' every time you're inclined to write 'very;' your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be."

"We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect."
--Anaïs Nin
This is such an incredible quote. Writing isn't about scribbling words. It's about making sense of life, and love, and struggles, and everything that comes with it all.

My fiance just asked me "which version is this?" in response to a story I've reworked seven times, and that's just a personal attack.

Every writer, no matter their writing ability has something they struggle with or fear in their writing. Just know you are not alone. I believe you have the ability to write and finish your novel. #amwriting Be Writing. Take a breath, finish your novel. - Wrtr
Remember that if you have a plot twist to construct the story so that it makes sense. There's a difference in being surprised and being confused. If the twist comes out of nowhere, & reaction isn't "this all makes sense now", then you have work to do

Always remember to back up your work in anyway you can. Clouds, external hard drives, email it to yourself, print it out and hand it to your sworn enemy who you must defeat in mortal kombat to retrieve. Anything. Just make sure to back up your work.

Remember, plot twists only work if they make sense in the rest of the narrative. So make sure your twist is baked into the story.

You know what? Some of your scenes aren't going to be fun to write. You're going to get to the end and feel you wasted 500 words.
You didn't. Every word counts, even the ones you now know for sure you're never going to use again.
Keep #writing.
