So far it's been perfectly stable since yesterday so I'm hoping I'm good! Not sure what happened when I tried the other day cause it was not going well at all. haha.
Perhaps it’s not bricked after all! After unplugging and giving up on yesterday, when I plugged it into my Windows VM and opened Simplicity Studio, it could see my @ZoozSmartHome 800 series stick! It wasn’t even loading yesterday. I updated the firmware for good measure.

Was excited to migrate to 800 series @ZWave using the @ZoozSmartHome USB controller. Tried doing a 700 to 800 migration via @Home_Assistant. Seemed to work at but had some intermittent issues. Then after an NVM backup I noticed it stopped responding completely…

Might give it another go. One thing I did was plug it in a non-USB 3.0 port. I’ve seen weird interference issues before. Not sure if it made a difference but my Proxmox mini-PC only has 3.0 ports so we’ll see. Glad I didn’t give up yet. Maybe there is still hope!

On top of all that you end up having to redo a bunch of config in Home Assistant if the entities are not the same as before (I think someone mentioned how to minimize the impact when entities change but not sure the best way to handle that yet).

So for now, I reverted back my VM to use my old 700 series controller.

Recently I integrated the Ecosense RadonEye RD200 into @Home_Assistant. Since it is a newer version, ESPHome did not work, but I used a @Raspberry_Pi Zero 2 W to create a Bluetooth proxy to push the data to MQTT in HA with a Python script found on GitHub. theprivatesmarthome.com/how-…

I saw mention of this on Reddit so I had to look into it further. This is good news for those wishing to migrate from 700 series to 800 series! Simple migration is important for enhanced user experience for @ZWave users! github.com/zwave-js/node-zwa…

I think it's time for me to get a @ZoozSmartHome 800 series controller soon!

Previous guides demonstrated using Nginx Proxy Manger 2 different ways, but this guide demonstrates how to do so with just the Let's Encrypt add-on. Added bonus of this method is that once HTTPS access is enabled, HTTP access is disabled so only encrypted connections are allowed.

My @Zooz ZEN16 relay has to be power cycled on occasion. Makes the wall switch stop working. Had the wall garage door opener wired as a switch on the ZEN16. Realized today I could just connect both the wall switch and the ZEN16 directly to the opener. Both work to open/close!

Because I had the wall switch connected to the ZEN16 which was connected to the garage door opener, if the ZEN16 stopped responding, the wall switch stopped working. Now they work independently. I’m wondering if that will prevent the need to power cycle the ZEN16.

The wall switch seems to work better because the garage door opener light button works again so maybe the switch was causing issues with the ZEN16. I hope to see greater stability now! At least I know the wall switch works— manual controls must still work if automations are down.
