100% There was this big wave of tech people last year who kept posting "AI won't replace jobs, it'll create jobs!" But that completely leaves out the transitionary period where old jobs are replaced by AI and new jobs aren't created yet In the Industrial Revolution that took 50 to 80 years! Time goes faster now, so with AI that could take 10 to 20 years of a rough ride for many

Halo 3 cannot survive the modern information gamers the way people play games in the modern age will tear it apart as the meta forms. Its fine for now but eventually each match will be dominated by people following "correct" meta forcing others to cowtow and ruining the game

Everyone says Opus 5.5 is crazy. Best model. Massive jump. Blah blah. I still don’t think it’s better than Astra. Frontier LLM coding capability has plateaued after Opus 4.8.

You may say it’s just a predictive blah-blah, has no feelings, should be able to take a beating. Sure. Could that change one day? I don’t know. Maybe. But that’s not the point. The point is that it’s not good for the soul. Taking comfort in being rudely demanding in a way you would not be to your fellow human devs comes with tax. I pay the extra token here and there to say please and thank you, not for the machine, but for myself. Your soul will appreciate that decision today.
