When you stay ready, you need not get ready. Safety captain @AustinMustangs ensures all of us stays safe. Great to see @CarolforTexas sporting that Mustang Green during her visit today. #GOMUSTANGS
One of my favorite things to do is visit students in #SD6. This morning I went to @AustinMustangs to talk about public service. What I didn’t expect was that during my remarks we’d go into a real, actual lockdown. It was kinda eerie, not knowing what might be on the other side of the door, down the hall or taking place in the parking lot. In discussions afterwards w/ students it was clear they’re accustomed to this new normal. Sad. We can do better Texas! Thanks to Ms. Marvel, @Principal_Reyna and the rest of the staff for their calm professionalism.
This is just another reminder why we need common sense gun legislation, as Texas leads the nation in school mass shootings.
High quality instruction paired with high quality experiences will yield high quality application. A win for our students, our district, and our great city!! GO MUSTANGS!!!
