Woman parks on private property during an asphalt repair project, gets towed, then shows up at the yard having a full meltdown. She claims the tow was illegal, she has a baby and an elderly person she needs to take to the hospital, she has no money because it’s the 1st of the month, and the tow company should just give her the car back. Tow guy: “It’s $407. It was a legal private property tow. Your circumstances aren’t our problem.” They end at an impasse while she keeps yelling. Rules exist for a reason. If your life is so precarious that one towed car for parking where the signs said not to creates a crisis, maybe don’t park there. Personal emergencies don’t cancel posted restrictions or create a free pass. Who’s actually in the wrong here — the property owner, the tow company, or the woman? Is the guy a predatory tow truck operator, or she shouldn’t have parked there?
