ORIYOMI HAMZAT LEADS CAMPAIGN COUNCIL ON COURTESY VISIT TO OYO STATE POLICE COMMAND, SEEKS STRONGER SYNERGY FOR PEACEFUL CAMPAIGN
Oriyomi Hamzat, the ACCORD gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State for the 2027 general election, has led members of his campaign council on a courtesy visit to the Oyo State Police Command headquarters, where he expressed appreciation for the Command’s swift response to recent attacks on his campaign train.
During the visit, Hamzat commended the Oyo State Police Command for its efforts in maintaining peace and order across the state. He acknowledged the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Olugbenga, for his commitment to ensuring security and public safety.
The ACCORD gubernatorial candidate stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between political actors and security agencies in promoting a peaceful political atmosphere especially as political campaigns and rallies gather momentum across the state.
Hamzat sought the continued cooperation and support of the Police Command to ensure that his campaign activities, including rallies and public engagements across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State are conducted peacefully and without disruption.
He reiterated the importance of protecting lives and property, safeguarding democratic participation and ensuring that every political party and candidate can exercise their constitutional rights without fear of violence or intimidation.
In his remarks, CP Abimbola Olugbenga reassured Hamzat of the Police Command’s commitment to providing a level playing field for all political parties and candidates. He emphasised that the Nigeria Police Force remains neutral and non-partisan in the discharge of its duties.
The Commissioner further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property and fostering peace throughout Oyo State. He stressed the importance of cooperation among political stakeholders and urged all parties to conduct their activities peacefully and within the ambit of the law.

Failed projects in Oyo State – We Need Change!
Look at the condition of Old Road, Lalupon, Ward 8. A project meant to serve the people has reportedly left residents dealing with broken culverts, blocked drainage, erosion, and a poor road.
This is why governance must put the people first. Our communities deserve infrastructure that works, public resources that deliver value, and leaders who listen to the needs of ordinary people.
