An Open Letter to PPG & Infold 📝 @Love_Deepspace @InfoldGames_ I want to write this letter as honestly as I can, without sugarcoating anything. And I want to encourage anyone who feels the need to write their own letter to do the same. I think so many of us have been holding things in for far too long, and maybe speaking up together will make it a little easier. I've been dealing with some health issues lately, and I actually started playing LADS because I saw Valko's first trailer. You probably wouldn't guess it from all my tweets, but I'm actually a baby in this community! I joined with a friend because we absolutely fell in love with Valko. His concept, his personality, his design... Everything. We loved everything about him. I already knew about LADS, but nothing had ever made me want to play it before. Believe it or not, even though I've grown to appreciate the other LIs, Valko is still the only reason I ever took that first step and downloaded the game. I downloaded it a few days after his announcement and naively started saving up resources so I could enjoy everything when he finally arrived. My friend and I were discovering the game together, talking about it, sharing our excitement. We'd only ever followed it from a distance before, so we were genuinely surprised by how good it was. And I don't just mean the graphics. The lore, the writing, the care put into every LI... Discovering all of it was an incredible experience. And then... June 30 happened. It was right before my vacation in Japan. I was in shock. My friend immediately deleted the game and his account in protest. I stayed in denial. At first, I tried to fight back. I had another, private X account where I expressed how devastated I was by the decision. But the hostility from some very aggressive antis eventually pushed me to delete that account. I spent my vacation glued to X. Why? I'd only just discovered the game, after all. I could have, and probably should have, done what my friend did: delete a game that apparently didn't want its new players. But I stayed because the injustice was impossible to ignore. Seeing Valko insulted, accused of incredibly serious things, seeing all the racist and homophobic abuse... As a French woman, I had NEVER encountered this much hatred online. And yes, I'm going to call it what it was: absolutely vile hatred. Despite how disgusted I was by that part of the community, I stayed because I kept telling myself: "Surely PPG can't support this. Surely they can't stand by this decision. It makes no sense. Just look at the numbers..." And the numbers kept dropping. Again and again. Yet there was still no sign of compassion from PPG. Nothing. Just little hints, bits of subtext, things that could just as easily be wishful thinking as something real. I felt like they hadn't just handed Valko over to the harassers. They'd handed his entire community over with him. And the hypocrisy of being made to feel like we're not allowed to love Valko, while everyone else gets to love their main, is something I still can't get over. I came here for Valko. I became invested because of him. And everything I've been doing since has been for him. Like so many of us, I spend whatever free time I have, before work, after work, fighting online for Valko's return. Four months. Four months is a long time. And all this time, I keep watching new content come out. Again and again. Without him. The numbers keep falling, but there's still no concrete sign of Valko. When the September multi-banner came out, I managed to rationalize it. "Well, his hair is already slicked back. Something that intimate would probably be too soon for him anyway. He doesn't really fit this particular banner..." I talked myself through the frustration and kept going. Still surrounded by the contempt of the people harassing us, and still met with silence from Infold. And now the Blade Runner collaboration is here. I haven't seen the movie, and honestly, I have no intention of watching it. It doesn't interest me. But even so, I couldn't help noticing how perfectly its visual identity fits the theme of version 6.0. Version 6.0, which was released without what should have been one of its biggest highlights: Valko. How are we supposed to enjoy something when the very thing that made us excited for it has been taken away? I could write for hours. Really. About my disappointment, my sadness, my hopes, everything I still want to believe in, everything I'm still fighting for. But the truth is, I'm exhausted. I wanted to enjoy this game with Valko. I wanted him to be there while I was going through some difficult moments with my health. That was taken away from me. It was taken away from all of us, for reasons I still believe are deeply unfair. And now what? Are we supposed to watch another multi-banner come out with the same 6.0 theme and just keep waiting? It's hard. I don't think I'm capable of giving up. I hate injustice, and I don't think this situation can ever have a satisfying resolution until Valko is finally back in the game. But please, let me say just how hard this has been. I've never experienced anything like this with a game before. A game that promises you the love of your life, only to remove one of those potential partners without what I consider a valid reason. And I genuinely don't understand how other mains don't feel threatened by what happened to Valko. After all, they're just pixels, right? If one LI can be removed after a controversy, what's stopping it from happening to another? One of the hardest parts is that for four months, we've been living off the same images. The same trailers. The same teasers. Watching them over and over and over again, just to make the absence hurt a little less. We were promised love. Instead, we got ghosted. I'm writing this because I need to get it off my chest. I need to. This has been, by far, the worst experience I've ever had with a game. And all the hope I still have for Valko's return doesn't erase the pain these past four months have caused. Four months is a very long time. Five feels unbearable. But then again, I never thought I'd make it this far either. So I guess I'll still be here, reminding Infold of the heartbreak they've put us through. I'm going to share a few of my favorite Valko pictures alongside this letter. And I sincerely hope this encourages others to open up too. I think it's important to remind PPG and Infold of the very real impact their decisions have had on us, on our feelings, and on our lives. We're all human beings behind these screens.
