Interviewed an elementary school teacher for our @KaiPodCo Catalyst microschool accelerator today and her story is heartbreaking. Just a snippet from the incredibly emotional conversation: "I come home at the end of every day crying. I honestly don't know if starting a microschool is the right path for me, but it’s either this or I’m leaving education. The system is set up against teachers!"
This work matters. Teachers deserve more. And when they have the chance to build, kids win.

People love to say that there is no single silver bullet in education. No *one* thing will solve the crisis or reform the system to better teach kids to read, to do math, or simply to love learning.
While that may be true, there is one thing in particular we could do that will help to unlock millions of little things.
Unlock funding from being tied to one school model and we will see the emergence of a dynamic marketplace that grows to better serves all types of students. We will also see the creation of a dynamic job market for educators, providing them with new and more sustainable career paths.

I'm always surprised when most kids can't twist rubber bands to hold things together.

I think we're at a turning point in K-12. Key things I am watching are:
-Parents driving new education policy
-Rise in alternatives (homeschool, pods, micro)
-New learning platforms (Replit, Synthesis, Primer)
