You just finished reading Anatoly’s Medium post about how block propagation on UDP will “revolutionize the industry”—a post riddled with jargon to mask the fact that it’s a flashy, centralized database running in Amazon’s shadow. You’ll be convinced of that until you attend a hackathon and realize no one actually uses Solana outside of degenerate minting bots. By then, you’ll have moved on to parroting Messari reports, calling everything else “tech theater,” as if Solana’s constant outages are some avant-garde performance art. “Well, actually, Solana has an unbeatable TPS —” Does it? Or does it have an unbeatable way of sacrificing security and decentralization for vanity metrics? You got that from some influencer’s Twitter thread, “Why Solana’s World Computer Will Replace Wall Street,” didn’t you? Yeah, I’ve read that thread too. Were you going to regurgitate the whole thing for us? Or do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or is that your shtick? You come into Telegram, cherry-pick stats from Validator Health Reports, and pretend they’re meaningful decentralization metrics to impress some seed fund managers? See, the sad thing about a guy like you is that in 50 years, when Solana’s final validator is hosted in some rack in AWS us-west-2, you’ll still be convincing yourself that speed was worth it. That decentralization wasn’t a necessity—it was just “optional idealism.” But by then, you’ll finally realize there are two certainties in crypto. One: scalability is a layered problem, not something you brute-force with cheap hardware. And two: you wasted years defending a system where downtime wasn’t a bug—it was just a “feature upgrade in progress.”
