My in person book selling event is going so slow that I almost have another chapter written. And it’s a gorgeous, and I mean absolutely perfect day. However it goes, I’m going to call it a win!

I love how drafting is just telling yourself the story you’ve been dreaming about. You get to experience everything through the character’s eyes for the first time, knowing you get to make it better in edits.

We, Gentiles, are blessed to be grafted in (Romans 11:24), and I personally, more and more, adore the Jews for being exactly how they are. Suzanne D. Williams: Forever Jew sdwauthor.blogspot.com/2026/…

And I do love so many of those tiny moments.
The gap between getting an idea and finishing a book is approximately a thousand tiny moments of not quitting.

I have not had the prayers answered yet. But I haven’t stopped praying either. Nor have I stopped writing. Abraham was called “father of many” before he stepped into that. He had many a prayer session before & after that day. I trust the God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob.
Authors, what's your take on prayers? Do you believe prayers have any effect on how well your books sell?

Martial arts changed the way I write. This week has been full of beautiful days to practice. So I have been practicing more than usual. & writing more. Thankfully I have a big enough yard that my neighbors don’t complain when I yell louder than the cows. I do have pretty cows.

Replying to @ChrisannDawson
IF I PERISH, I PERISH. These were not the words of a woman who had abandoned hope. They were the declaration of a woman who refused to allow fear to become greater than her responsibility. Esther understood that her crown could be taken, her position could be lost, and her life could come to an end, but she would not abandon those whose lives depended upon her courage. And therein lies a lesson for every believer: there comes a moment when faith must move beyond the comfort of words and become the conviction of our actions. Stand for what is right. Defend those who cannot defend themselves. Trust Almighty God with what you cannot control. And when the outcome remains uncertain, remember that faithfulness is not measured by whether we survive the battle, but by whether we remain faithful in the midst of it. Amen. God bless

Such an amazing quote!!
My favorite passage from C S Lewis: “It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree, helping each other to one or the other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities, it is with the awe and the circumspection proper to them, that we should conduct all our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations — these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit — immortal horrors or everlasting splendors”

It looks like my story is going to be a trilogy. Probably 100k words for each book. I’m nearly to the 1/3 point. Just another 2k words! #amwriting #fantasy

My story is similar. Lots of darkness. Greater light.
I AM A CHRISTIAN. AND I HAVE BOTH LIGHT AND DARKNESS IN ME. I was a teenager in the 80s, and believe me, I lived through more than just the big hair, loud music, and wild times. I made choices that I'm not proud of, and some that I'm honestly surprised I survived. I've drank too much, snorted things up my nose, smoked weed, and created soul ties with more people than I care to admit. I've hurt people I loved and people who loved me. I've spoken hateful words, and sometimes I still struggle with that darker side of myself. But there's another side of me, too. A woman who loves fiercely, gives freely, feels deeply, and genuinely wants to do good. I've lived in both the light and the darkness. And I know which one I want to walk in. My faith doesn't mean my past never happened. It means my past doesn't get to define my future. And THANK GOD that today, one of my biggest battles is controlling my tongue instead of fighting the battles that once threatened to destroy me! I don't call myself a Christian because I'm better than anyone else. I follow Jesus because I know exactly how much I need His grace. I still have shadows. I still stumble. But the darkness doesn't have the final say over my life. Jesus does. I'm not proud of every chapter of my story, but I'm grateful God allowed me to live long enough to write a better one. My darkness is part of my testimony. But His light is my salvation. ❤️🙏 “The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” — John 1:5 (KJV)

Why do I begin all my best writing mere moments before I have to dash out of the house?? I spent hours trying to prime the pump … Now to figure out how to channel that “I have to be somewhere so let’s write our best” energy from the beginning of the writing session.

#Readers (especially #Fantasy readers): would you rather run across a math calculation in a book where you were given the answer right away, or would you rather be given the opportunity to figure it out for yourself? For instance, 7x16.

My 6th grader needed to read 136 pages before his AR test today. So yesterday, I sat w/ him with my 560 pg book & we read for 3 1/2 hours (w/stretching & snack breaks). He had 17 pgs left by bedtime, & he finished b4 school. Best of all? The hug. “I love reading w/you, Mom.” 😍

He wanted marriage, had sent for a wife. According to what she remembered of his letters, he'd asked the woman to come in time for Christmas, yet he appeared not ready to make a full commitment. That made her long for it all the more. amzn.to/4hMChl5 ♡
