People have always responded peacefully to what they don’t like in democracies all over the world. About 9 million just did it in America. It’s a right enshrined in the constitutions of all democracies.

Analysis not bluster, lies and Whataboutery. Listen to a sane voice
After the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer and a BJP spokesperson questioned DeKoder's earlier SIR analysis, Prannoy Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) responds with a closer look at the data. Is counting seats won enough to understand SIR's electoral impact? What does the vote swing reveal that the seat tally doesn't? Watch till the end and follow DeKoder for more. #SIR #ECI #VoterDeletion #WestBengal #BJP #TMC #WomenVoters #VotingRights #IndianElections #ElectionAnalysis

Musings, 9 October 2026 Maharastra Voters List Mystery In all the milling around, here is a hilarious story. I know a person who got a notice from the dreaded BLO because his Father’s name was misspelt. He went and submitted the proof of his father’s correct name and as indeed proof that he was his father !! After 15 days got another notice. This time to the effect that the difference between his father and his age was 52 years !! Perplexed he went to the mighty BLO’s office again. He was shown the discrepancy. And lo and behold instead of his father’s name, the name of his grandfather was inserted in the list. And, the age difference with his grandfather, mentioned as his father in the electoral roll, was indeed 52 years !! The website would not correct this discrepancy. The friend was directed to swear an affidavit regarding the name of his father again and leave it with the BLO and to pray that it was accepted. That’s how, stubborn algorithms work. They ensure only Central deletion addition by the hand of God. This man I am talking about is an Indian citizen over many generations and certainly NOT among the favourite “ghuspaithiyas”. He grinds on. I next looked at the Maharastra Voter’s List pre and post Lok-Sabha and Pre-and post State Elections. Fascinating facts emerged. You have a look at the Electorate too at various times : 📍Pre Lok Sabha : 9,29 cr🔻 📍Electors Added :(+)40.81 lacs 📍Pre State Elections : 9,71 cr 🔻 📍Post SIR Net Deletions : (-)2.7 cr 📍Present Electorate : 7,71 cr 🔻 on 26 August Conclusion : A truly transformative Electoral Roll in Maharastra over a year, changed evey 5 months or so, with no explanations, for any to see. If you know, the Sir Exercise in the country is more like a “Game of Casino”. The house lets you win a few times to spur you on, but in the end the it wins 70% to 80 %. Does it ring a bell ? You would have heard of Match Fixing too. Not every ball is a No Ball and and not all catches are dropped. If Bihar had a net deletion of 65 lacs Maharastra or Bengal should have taken in atleast 30 % each of the Bhaiyas who presumably moved out of Bihar for work !! How stupid, folks, do you think the people in Maharastra and that too in the land of Shivaji and Jyotiba Phule !!

How the SIR deletions affect the Bengal election results? Were certain categories of voters targeted and if so, what were the consequences? Does the analysis of Bengal elections suggest any lessons for the forthcoming state elections? Prannoy Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) uses data on SIR deletions and swings in votes to answer these and other questions about the impact of SIR on the Bengal elections. Watch the full analysis and follow DeKoder for more. #ECI #SIR #VoterDeletion #WestBengal #BJP #TMC #WomenVoters #VotingRights #IndianElections #ElectionAnalysis

“In the long run, we are all dead” said by John Maynard Keynes (1883–1946), the renowned British economist. Keynes was criticising economists who focused on long-term equilibrium while ignoring the urgent economic problems and human suffering of the present. His point was that long-term solutions are of little comfort to people facing crises today. The quotation has since become one of the most famous expressions in economics, often used more broadly to remind us that the present matters, because life is finite. Let’s plan for today and not wait for two more decades for the miracle to happen !!

I looked into the raw statistics of the Bengal Electoral Rolls, post and pre SIR rollout 📍Pre-SIR Electors : 7.66 crore 📍Initial SIR Deletions : 63.66 lakh 📍Put under Adjudication:60.06 lakh 📍Post Judicial adjudication: 🔻Deletions : 27.16 lakh 🔻Retained : 32.68 lakh. ❌The gross deletions in Bengal: ❌90.83 lakh !! 📍This is a deletion of 11.9% of the pre-SIR roll. 📍Present electorate: roughly 6.77 crore I have a feeling that none of the Bengal greats like Gurudev and Netaji would have supported this suspension of voting rights and subsequently the citizenship of Indians. How can you disenfranchise 91 lakh people in one state ? This is specially serious as it would amount to stripping them of their citizenship too !! The implications of this will be stark and disproportionately t affect those on the fringes.

Got my copy of Mr Anil Swarup’s “You Can Make It Happen”. It is, as are his earlier books, a compelling testament to the transformative power of determination, integrity, purposeful action necessary for all youngsters who aspire to serve the people in any capacity. Drawing from an extraordinary career in public service, Anil Swarup turns his rich experiences into practical wisdom and valuable lessons in leadership. The book reminds us that circumstances need not determine our destiny—our response to them does. Its greatest strength lies in its refreshing honesty and the courage to speak from lived experience. The author offers insightful lessons on perseverance, teamwork, problem-solving and that it’s possible to get things done even against heavy odds. Above all, the book inspires the reader to replace excuses with action and obstacles with opportunities. A truly uplifting and worthwhile read specially for those young administrators who want to serve and not rule the people. How Bihar was SIRified •Pre-SIR Voters (24 June 2025): 7.89 crore •Draft roll (1 Aug 2025): 7.24 crore, after about 65 lakh names were removed as absent, shifted (or dead) ! Not added any where else. •Final roll (30 Sept 2025): 7.42 crore. 21.53 lakh names were added, mostly first-time voters, and a further 3.66 lakh were removed as ineligible. •Net drop: about 47 lakh. Counting every deletion (65 lakh plus 3.66 lakh), the gross deletion figure, pre poll in Bihar is about 68.7 lakh voters !! Do you think this was a legal election in Bihar having stripped 68.7 lakh voters ? JP, if he was alive would certainly not be happy at this turn of events.

The Yes “SIR” Culture in the Election (Omission &) Commission of India Let me tell you folks that in my career and during my stints as a District Magistrate, I was appointed Returning Officer six times in State and National Elections I have been voting for 30 years. But this time it took me five visits to the BLO to retain my name in the voters list !! And, in the fifth summons, I was directed to appear with my Matriculation Certificate and Passport or else I may loose my voting rights!! I carried along not only the above but my certificates till MA, the merit Certificates of each of the exams issued by the University and the scholarships I was awarded in each of the exams, lest the BLO thought I was a lesser individual than most people and deserving of loosing my voting rights !! And, I showed it all to the “Guruji” who was very happy to see me visibly shaken and make me run around him in circles !! Hopefully all this effort should ensure that I refigure in the electoral rolls. God knows or may be the Software knows better

This even after 80 Years, remains the best speech by a leader in the world 🇮🇳 Share it with every young Indian who has never listened to Pandit Nehru speaking. Goosebumps. #IndependenceDay2026 To imagine where we have fallen today when it comes to the level of Prime Minister is painful.
