You know those people who you grow up with? Your parents force you together for every birthday and holiday no matter if you share interests or not? Doesn't matter. They show up when you need them and you don't even have to tell them. They just know. And I love them for it.

As we hurtle towards a new year, take a minute to breathe. If I have learned anything in the last month, it's to take time and sit in the moment, and savour it. Sometimes we know the weight of a moment, and sometimes we only know when it's gone. I want to cling to all of them.

If you need a good laugh, tonight W asked me why I was getting older and I said it was like how when she turns 4, she will get older and she turned around and said "but what if you didn't and went backwards?". I swear kids hold secret knowledge and then we ruin them and its lost.

For a presentation I am giving tomorrow. One of the most common mistakes I see in discussions of mental health is "othering" - the idea that mental health problems only happen to susceptible people. The truth is, when our pressures overwhelm our supports, there we are.
