Attention Rhode Island hockey peeps...
🚨⬇️🚨
Know someone with ties to hockey deserving a place in the RI Hockey Hall of Fame? The window for public nominations for the Class of '27 is now open thru Nov. 30. All nominations MUST be submitted using the official form available on our website - RIHHOF.com.
Happens in a blink of an eye!
Hard to believe tomorrow is 40th ann. of day I was called into Bill Torrey's office and, at 26, appointed publicity director of @NYIslanders.
I had an offer to return to @NHL, where I interned, but Bill did not give NHL VP Steve Ryan permission to speak with me...then this!

When a picture is worth a thousand words!
It's truly sad to watch the sport industry DEVOLVE in real time.
After spending 100+ years warning of the harm legalized sports gambling will have on pro sports, the leagues have been taken hostage by it.
Oh well, meet the new era...

RI hockey fans, drive around in style...hockey style!
Get one for your Zamboni, too!

Rhode Island hockey fans can now display their passion wherever they go, with a new RI Hockey Hall of Fame license plate. The RI DMV approved our request for a branded plate as part of the Charity License Plate program.

So sorry to hear that @karlravechespn is among those being let go by #ESPN. Wishing all those let go the best of luck.
As for Karl, I enjoyed our professional encounters, especially this gem w/ the late, great @MLBPA Exec Dir, Michael Weiner. Still timely.
Watch til the end.

Rob has been leading the owners' labor charge for 30+ years. If we take him at his word, that unity remains after likely sharing w/ owners that a cap will take CBA talks over the edge of a cliff and likely result in a substantial amount of lost games. And they're 💯 ok w/ that.

This demands attention. What are they cooking up in Louisiana? A tax? A lottery? Divert sports betting revenue or become a state-run gambling operation? Stay tuned!

👏👏👏
Yesterday, we were in Minneapolis hosting a youth clinic with our good friends at the @CalRipkenSrFdn.
Thank you @Kenny_Lofton7
@LaTroyHawkins32 @ckone47 @trevorplouffe & Hall of Famer Paul Molitor - you Still Got Game!

The world of hockey has sadly lost another icon. Cliff Fletcher carried himself with class and dignity, and he had a smile for everyone he met. He was one of Bill Torrey's best hockey friends, and when the two were together there would be belly laughs!
RIP Cliff, say hey to WAT!

Happy birthday to the greatest team sport athlete in my lifetime. Bobby Orr revolutionized a sport...spurred the growth of hockey in New England via indoor/outdoor rink & youth league expansion. Speaking of expansion, pre-Bobby, the NHL had 6 teams. 10 yrs later, 18; 11 yrs 21!

Man, cancer sucks!
I'm saddened by this one. Jay & I crossed paths for first time when I was cutting my teeth w/ @NYIslanders & he was doing same as a young agent under the tutelage of legendary Art Kaminsky. He was a strong advocate for his clients & a solid human!
RIP Jay 😢
It saddens me close friend & business partner, Jay Grossman has passed from cancer.
@JohnOzzyTutu and I are forever grateful for the lessons we learned from you, and will always carry you with us in our hearts and practices.
Rest easy, Jay! chapmanfuneral.com/obituarie…

Wow! Congrats Venezuela! Bad for Team USA, but great for baseball and @WBCBaseball! A new champ is crowned! 🔥⚾️🌎⚾️🔥

Hard to believe it's been 20 years since the inaugural @WBCBaseball!
It's great to see the overall enthusiasm for the 2026 event - from fans, media and the US-born players - that was lacking in 2006.
Good luck to everyone involved with this edition of the Classic! Play ball!!

Kudos @C_Bass419 & MLBPA peers for tapping the brakes on union leadership choice.
IMO, players' unions suffer from too small of a pool to draw from. Not many people in this world with the experience needed to run MLBPA. A la Marvin Miller, candidate doesn't need to be a lawyer.
