Day 2 of @EnergyNewsData Western Energy Summit: WPP’s Rebecca Sexton on the “Planning for Peaks” panel discussed how WRAP’s impending move to binding operations next year will provide the transparency, accountability and economic incentives needed to help address RA.
On the panel, Rebecca noted that transparent metrics and better data in a binding WRAP program will allow participants to see how much capacity they need to bring and how much they can rely on the diversity of the region.
Meanwhile, discounted compliance charges through the transition period balance the incentive to invest in resource development with payment for the benefits that come with program participation and access to resources. @CUNewsData
Talking about the WestTEC 10-year study, WPP’s Sarah Edmonds reiterated the sense of urgency around completing the already planned projects included in the report. “We must follow through on those commitments.” @EnergyNewsData @CUnewsdata
