🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting in Michigan after a driver who backed into a 76-year-old GREAT-GRANDMOTHER, left her DYING at the end of a driveway, DROVE OFF... and then DROVE BACK PAST THE SCENE...
...was sentenced to JUST 100 WEEKENDS in jail.
Yes, you read that right... WEEKENDS.
She left a 76-year-old woman to die on the pavement, and her punishment is LITERALLY part-time jail.
The victim's name was Mary Hulswit, she was 76 years old.
She was married for 55 years, she had two children, three grandchildren and just had her first great-grandchild.
On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, St. Clair Shores police got a call near Harper Avenue and 13 Mile Road.
A woman's body was lying at the end of a driveway.
That was Mary.
Prosecutors say 32-year-old Stephanie Holt hit her while backing out of the driveway.
She didn't stop. She didn't call 911. She just drove away.
And according to investigators, she later DROVE BY THE SCENE AGAIN... and kept going.
Holt was charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death.
In Michigan, that's a felony, up to 15 YEARS in prison.
She posted a $100,000 bond and went home with a GPS tether after FOUR DAYS in jail.
On July 15th, she pleaded no contest.
This week in Macomb County Circuit Court, a female Judge, Jennifer M. Faunce, handed down the sentence.
Two years of probation.
365 days in jail... served ONE WEEKEND AT A TIME. 100 weekends.
Check in Friday at 5 p.m., check out for the week and credit for those four days she already did.

🚨BREAKING: A 42-year-old Detroit man, Devon Jason Watson, has been charged with 1ST DEGREE PREMEDITATED MURDER in the fatal stabbing of innocent Chipotle worker, Jaquoya Wix.
The 34-year-old working mother’s throat was slit, and she was stabbed twice in the left side of her chest and twice under her right ear, investigators said.
“There is no evidence that he knew this victim at all,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said.

Traveling is wildly overrated unless you're genuinely wealthy.
People talk about it like it's the meaning of life, but for most people it's just an expensive headache wrapped in Instagram filters.
You spend months saving money, then pay ridiculous prices for flights, hotels, baggage fees, taxis, food, and tourist attractions.
The airport experience is a nightmare:
• Long security lines
• Delayed flights
• Canceled flights
• Lost luggage
• $10 bottles of water
• Sitting in a metal tube for hours with no legroom
Then you finally arrive exhausted, only to discover you're standing in line with thousands of other tourists trying to take the exact same photo.
Everyone says, "It's about the experience."
What experience?
Being stressed, sleep deprived, overcharged, and counting down the days until you're back in your own bed?
For me, nothing beats having money in the bank, sleeping in my own house, eating food I actually like, and avoiding the chaos altogether.
Maybe I'm missing something, but spending thousands to be uncomfortable in a different location has never sounded like a great deal.

So here's the thing with this...
1. The law was initially enacted in 1978, almost 50 years ago! Recycling was non-existent at the time... now, every home has a recycling container and most businesses and many sidewalks do, too.
2. The amount ($0.10) has remained the same that whole time. $0.10 in 1978 is worth almost $0.50 today... and if the state gov tried to raise the cost, you'd essentially be adding a $12 surcharge on 24-pack.
So why does it continue? Because the unreturned cans and bottles provide almost $100M to the state government every year. It has basically become a hidden tax.
