Rumpled blanket-like pancakes with baked cherries and toasted almonds are exactly the breakfast I'd like someone to bring to me right now, so I'm going to send this out into the universe and hope it makes it so.ย  smittenkitchen.com/2014/06/cโ€ฆ

Kids can't learn on an empty stomach.ย  Starting this fall, all New York public school students will have access to free breakfast and lunch. It just makes sense.

Need early summer lunch ideas? See todayโ€™s themarthablog.com. I hosted a lovely business gathering serving tomato tart, an easy pasta salad, citrus granitas and more.

I build community because I feel lonely. Being ambitious is lonely. Being rebellious is lonely. Being a founder is definitely lonely. But when youโ€™re surrounded by other crazy people, you stop feeling crazy. Thatโ€™s why, over the past 5 years, Iโ€™ve curated an IRL community of 700+ founders building across the consumer stack. The format is simple: 90% founders, only 10% VCs obsessed with consumer tech, invite-only, no public link - and (most importantly), Brazilian music. Thatโ€™s where I get my energy. Iโ€™m surrounded by founders - friends, girlfriends, even parents - and (almost) all of them would benefit from knowing each other. Huge thanks to @jesskah, @Clara_Gold, @jakebrooks, @vincentzhu, and @amiyoshimura_ for co-hosting the past two events in SF and NYC ๐Ÿ’›

This is a Top 5 warm-weather favorite for me -- pan-crisped chickpeas on top of blistered lemony zucchini on top of a salty garlic yogurt sauce, finished with herbs and more lemon juice. It serves exactly one person and it's not sorry about it at all. smittenkitchen.com/2019/09/cโ€ฆ

Have adult gathering traditions that your kid participates in, like an annual cookout. My dad hosted an annual crawfish boil every April with all the neighbors and friends, and I started carrying the tradition when I had kids of my own. I hope my kids will carry it on as well!

My son is turning one next month. Didnโ€™t have any family traditions growing up and really want them for our family. Please share any super fun/memorable family traditions for birthdays, holidays or just random things you loved from your childhood.

I'm working on a thesis: "digital proximity" has a dark side that is playing a large part in our sense of loneliness and feeding the downfall of social confidence. Historically, we compare ourselves to those that have physical proximity to us. 1/n

Peter is checking in from Mayotte, where the team has returned to our WCK kitchen after Cyclone Dikeledi passed through the archipelago. We were able to provide 24,000 meals to several communities the day before the storm hit, and the local women leading our kitchen team quickly got back to work preparing 5,000 meals daily from our Field Kitchen. Our restaurant partners have also been working tirelessly to support their neighbors, with more than 50 partners providing 30,000 meals every day. #ChefsForMayotte

This is why @Potluck's mission is so vital. Inspiring shared experiences between friends, family, and neighbors is essential to a renewed sense of community and togetherness. Gathering over food is primal and important.
Don't know about you but I feel pretty badly about this stat: "The share of U.S. adults having dinner or drinks with friends on any given night has declined by more than 30 percent in the past 20 years."
