“Structural” means there is some kind of *system* determining how one shot or even one frame follows another. In other words rather than a story or character arc directing the flow of images, its numbers, rules or some other kind of organizing principle 2/10

Michael Snow... an unfathomable loss. I wrote a dissertation about zooms in 70s cinema because of him—and yet, WAVELENGTH was more of a structuring absence, something I approach without ever grasping. I choose not to believe he's dead—rather, like his work, he infinitely recedes.

This is such a great example of artists who have had a variable media art practice for over twenty years clearly not having to compromise their aesthetic language for Art Blocks. This series translates so well and fits perfectly into their existing catalogue.

code needs to perform, it can't be captured. when you create generative art in the way some of my work exists, the instant it gets encoded in video for the web or represented as an image, it kills everything that's essential to it.
