Just listened to “Getting started with benchmarking” by @PostgresFM . Insightful. I did some query perf benchmarking a while back on postgres running on AMD vs ARM and the lessons learned today have helped me identify a couple of really good and meh things I did there 😄

Listening/watching @PostgresFM and Postgres.tv (with amazing @PostgreSQL guest experts!) you can be 100% sure that you're getting true human content -- no GPT3, 4, or any AI involved in content creation. (...yet. Should we try and convert some materials to text version? What's the best tool today for that?)

Join us in ~20 minutes (or watch later): Alexander Korotkov, Buffer management in @PostgreSQL youtube.com/watch?v=9Veg6ATp…
You won't want to miss this (Thu, 17UTC): youtube.com/watch?v=9Veg6ATp… – Alexander Korotkov will dive into @PostgreSQL internals. Alexander's team (@orioledb) has already made many impressive changes toward a better Postgres future. And buffer pool management is one of the key areas.

🐘 If you want to scale out reads with postgres standbys, important info at 20:45 for long queries reporting (stops replication on standby vs. stops vacuum on primary) youtu.be/URzYBpnkXxw?t=1245
New episode: “Replication” This week Nikolay takes us through the different replication options — looking at use cases, options, and some things to be careful of. This was another listener request, thank you! 🎙️ postgres.fm/episodes/replica… 📺 youtube.com/watch?v=URzYBpnk…

Tickled that the @PostgresFM hosts picked up my topic suggestion: HOT updates, what they are, why they matter, etc. postgres.fm/episodes/hot-upd… Homework: 1. Check out the episode. 2. Send them more #PostgreSQL topic suggestions for future episodes!

Some people don't have the time or the money to travel to physical Postgresql conferences. If you have a good talk and don't recorded yet, consider record it or talk about it with the people of PostgreSQL (FM || TV). You will help more people than you can imagine.
Amazingly Postgres FM is starting to show up in some podcast charts! Special shoutout to our listeners in Dominican Republic, Iceland, Slovenia, and Romania 🙌 🇩🇴 🇮🇸 🇸🇮 🇷🇴

@PostgresFM Hello! Great episode on index management. We're rebuilding indexes on a schedule where I work, I may write it up. Future episode idea: fillfactor, HOT updates, workloads and performance, when it's worth customizing. Thanks!
