On the sidelines of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Postal Operations Council (POC) week in Bern, Switzerland, I met with Post Connect CEO Hatem El Soly, alongside Beyon Connect CEO Richard Budel and Director of International Markets Morten Olesen, to explore digital solutions for Posta Kenya. Our discussions focused on electronic registered mail and digital mailbox solutions that can strengthen the security, reliability and efficiency of postal communication while meeting the evolving needs of individuals, businesses and government institutions. As we advance Posta Kenya’s digital transformation agenda, such engagements are important in identifying innovative solutions, building strategic partnerships and expanding our role in the delivery of trusted digital postal services. #PostaKenya #UPU #DigitalTransformation

The second 2026 session of the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) Postal Operations Council (POC) commenced today in Berne, Switzerland, bringing together postal leaders from across the world to deliberate on the future of the global postal sector and advance international postal cooperation. As the UPU’s principal technical and operational body, the POC plays a critical role in shaping international postal standards, modernising operational frameworks and strengthening the efficiency, quality and interoperability of postal services across member countries. For Posta Kenya, participation in these deliberations is an important opportunity to contribute to global postal policy, exchange best practices and align our operations with emerging international standards. These engagements are essential to building a more competitive, innovative and resilient postal administration that responds to evolving customer expectations and supports trade, e-commerce and regional connectivity. #UPU #POC #PostaKenya

Today, we marked World Post Day 2026 under the theme “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities,” celebrating the enduring role of postal services in connecting people, supporting businesses and powering national development. I had the honour of delivering my remarks at the celebration, graced by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Investments and Assets Management, Mr. Cyrell Wagunda, and joined by the Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya, Mr. David Mugonyi, EBS. The event reaffirmed the importance of a strong, modern and commercially sustainable postal network that serves every Kenyan. As Posta Kenya, we remain committed to transforming our nationwide network into greater opportunities for trade, innovation, e-commerce and inclusive service delivery. Our future is not just about delivering mail; it is about connecting markets, enabling enterprise and keeping communities connected. One Postal Network. Infinite Possibilities.
