Cyber Beast field notes. Spent the entire weekend finally finishing something that’s been on the truck in pieces for a while. The next big step for my vision of a perfect overlander — and the first I’ve seen on a Cybertruck, as far as I know! Onboard automatic central tire inflation and deflation is now live on the Beast — via AIR CTI. I built their system into the CT with the help of AIR CTI’s Paul McKay (out of Victoria, AU). The system has a dash-mounted interface with push-button presets for High (50 psi) / Med (35 psi) / Low (15 psi), and each of those three set points is fully user-definable. AIR CTI fabricated custom lug adapters specifically for my Martian beadlock wheels so their rotating wheel-hub assemblies bolt on cleanly. I needed to fabricate several custom brackets to integrate their standard kit onto the CT (the CT just isn’t built like most other pickups out there 😂). I decided quickly that I really needed an articulated line holder, hard-mounted, for each wheel’s air supply — all four lines and their valve mounts have to accommodate the full range of the CT’s air suspension travel, including all six height settings from Entry up to Extract. Each line also has to reach the hub on centerline, dropping straight down from the center of the fender arch, so there’s no interference with the tire through full steering lock (especially critical with four-wheel steer). Each wheel — and each wheel’s air supply point — has a dedicated isolation valve for system isolation if something mechanical goes wrong. Push-lock connections at each hub make field repairs quick, and every individual wheel airline is heavy-duty with a steel interior support. Why: a while ago I was visiting Iceland with my wife and we went on an off-road excursion to remote sites in one of their well-known big-tire rigs. Moving from paved highway to dirt trail was seamless — hit a button, and the tires hissed down while we were still rolling. Approaching a river to ford, hit the button and lower them a bit more — no stopping, no getting out in the cold rain. That stuck. Same idea down here for beach trekking — air down without dragging my old four-hose system through the sand in a rainstorm. It’s just pure convenience. Some purists will have their opinions; one person recently asked me “what if somebody cuts a line?” I told him the same thing that would happen if they snipped your valve stem. Difference is I’ll only spend a couple minutes swapping in a spare line that I now keep in my Urander bedcaps side storage, then re-inflate by pushing one button. It’s an active system — always on when the truck is being driven (which is also why I needed that ignition-signal generator I posted earlier, both for the ARB compressor and the AIR CTI control module). On highway travel I’m already seeing it auto-correct: a couple PSI rise as the tires warm, and it deflates them back to 50. When I park and they cool, it adds ~2 PSI back automatically. Pretty awesome. I’ll try to post more on the actual install later — component locations and the custom brackets I made. This was totally a want, not a need. 🤣 aircti.com/ @MartianWheels @UranderOfficial

AT&T CEO: Starlink Mobile won’t be able to penetrate walls. SpaceX: We’ve acquired 800 MHz spectrum, which will allow Starlink Mobile to provide better indoor coverage, including signals that can penetrate walls and other obstacles. People are underestimating Starlink Mobile.

Take my money! Can't wait to get away from the legacy providers!
We announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum license portfolio that will pave the way for @Starlink to become a major mobile carrier in the US. With this new spectrum and our Gen2 constellation, Starlink Mobile can ensure Americans have access to high-speed mobile broadband no matter where they are → spacex.com/updates#starlink-…

A couple of my engineers at work decided the Cyber Beast needed more thrust. They Photoshopped twin Falcon 9s onto my truck in the shop lot tonight… right where the @UranderOfficial 270 awning usually lives. Guess we’re winning them over. (I’m their boss, so that’s either love… or a carefully worded resignation letter.)😂 Photoshop credit: the crew. Rockets still fictional. Awning still real. @UranderOfficial @SpaceX

Anybody else really need a 12 VDC ignition signal on a Cybertruck for aftermarket accessories — so they turn on/off automatically on entry, or when you walk away and it drops into standby? I’m installing multiple accessories (like my onboard ARB compressor), and at this point it’s basically become a must-have. I looked at OBD and the other usual taps. Nothing I’d really trust for multiple higher-current aftermarket loads. The CT is 48 VDC native and there’s really no clean documented keyed 12 VDC IGN to tap. So I built a Fake IGN triggered off the DTRL / frunk light-bar. Current sensor on that feed: looped the DTRL main through the sensor core twice to get enough current to trip it (~0.61 A measured → 2× loops through an NK DS1-NODC-FF past the ~0.75 A threshold). Sense only — no Tesla voltage into the accessory side. Same method I used before for the Morimoto bumper reverse lights. DS1 grounds a SPST coil. Dry contact into a Macromatic THR-3816U Off Delay timer so accessories don’t chatter on/off (think Tesla light shows 😂). I’ll likely set ~5 minutes after DTRL goes out. The 12 V source is my 120 Ah frunk battery from the winch / accessory-lights install. That gives auto on/off for things like the CB and the new ARB compressor when the truck’s actually awake — more accessories in the works. Overkill? Yeah. Unfortunately that’s how I’m wired. Found an unused factory 6 mm threaded insert in the steel frame under the frunk liner (driver side). Fabbed a Z-bracket to mount all three as compact as I could. Still finishing the install (liner out) — working so far. Pics here; wiring diagram in the next post. 1/2 @ARB_USA

2/2 As-built wiring. DTRL → DS1 (2× loops) → SPST → Macromatic Off Delay → fused +12VDC out for ARB Isolating IGN. All 12VDC accessory power from the 120 Ah frunk battery, not tapping into Tesla (except to charge battery via the frunks factory 48v 400 watt power source).

When Monica Bellucci was cast in Spectre as James Bond's love interest, she became the oldest "Bond Girl" at 50. The second is Honor Blackman, who was 39 when she played Pussy Galore. See more photos: bit.ly/3AjwnV5

This is the promised future: a man with ALS speaking in his own voice just by thinking. ~7 minutes of your day. Worth every second.
Through the VOICE trial, Terry is using his Neuralink implant to help fine-tune a brain-to-voice interface for himself and others who can’t speak. He trained the algorithm first by miming speech as best he could, then by simply thinking the words and hearing them come out in his own natural voice. Powered by Grok Voice from @SpaceXAI

**Cow mode update** Last year I bought Blueberry, a Zebu calf, as a herd friend for Strudel. I folded up the seats, put a rubber mat down, and rode her home in the CT cab. We stopped at Tractor Supply for supplies. Dog Mode activated! She found the rear screen with her nose and aimed the vents at herself. I had posted it on the CT owners forum — “Cow mode activated!” They’re nearly grown now and best buds on the ranch. Pet Mode is still the best button for Florida heat! Anybody else graduate from calf-in-cab to full ranch crew, or have another fun story for Pet Mode?

Finally, a little recognition for what the incredible SpaceX team has accomplished and is accomplishing! I suspect more will come once more people fully understand how transformative their advancements have been and will be for the world.
SpaceX's Falcon 9 Booster Landing Team awarded 1st-ever Neil Armstrong Space Prize! 🔥 Purdue awards the prize to “those whose contributions to space in the preceding decade are deemed the most consequential for humanity,” according to the prize’s website. Falcon 9 was the world’s first reusable rocket — a technical achievement long considered impossible in the industry. The team consisted of Lars Blackmore, senior principal Mars landing engineer; Shana Diez, senior director, Starship reliability; Jon Edwards, senior vice president, Falcon & Dragon projects; Yoshiaki Kuwata, principal GNC engineer; and Eduardo Velazquez, director, Crew Starship engineering.
