meanwhile Russian missiles continue to kill Ukrainian civilians and destroy energy infrastructure, every day
Kushner "told Zelensky that he should pause the strikes because he and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff were dedicating a lot of time, energy, and jet fuel to mediating with Moscow...A 30-day pause on refineries would be a way for Ukraine to show gratitude"

Dit is wat de Russische trolnetwerken doen om onze 'publieke opinie' te bewerken. Het zijn er veel meer dan je denkt. En het werkt veel beter dan je denkt.
A Russian bot forgot to switch its account from MAGA to "Ukrainian." 😀
This is how Russians simulate public opinion and pressure politicians into adopting a pro-Russian stance—leading them to believe that this is what their electorate demands. That is why it is important to express your position openly.

America wants Ukraine to simply surrender. In the interest of "world peace" Ukraine should concede land and sovereignty to Russia.
With the US on its side Russia now demands NATO also dumps the Baltics, Poland, Hungary, etc.
Russia always wants more.
According to Le Monde, citing sources, U.S. special envoy Witkoff held a tense meeting in Florida on October 9 with Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office.
Sources claimed that Witkoff spoke to Budanov “like a child,” trying to “teach” him how to make money.
Witkoff proposed a postwar “regional prosperity plan” that included fully restoring Russian oil and gas transit to Europe through Ukrainian territory.
Witkoff argued that Ukraine would earn transit revenues while Europe would benefit from lower energy costs.
Budanov reportedly replied that Ukraine’s model is “not Belarus, but Poland,” then stepped out to call President Zelenskyy, who advised him not to show any reaction.
When the talks resumed, the Ukrainian side was shown a document outlining a U.S.-Russia diesel deal.
An irritated Witkoff reportedly said: “Accept this diesel deal and stop striking Russian oil refineries — you are putting the world at risk!”
Ukrainian participants were described as shocked, viewing the plan as creating dependency on Moscow and noting that the United States appeared to have secured nothing in return from Putin.
A source close to the delegation told Le Monde: “I have never seen the Ukrainians so stunned and alarmed after a meeting.”
Analysts contrasted the episode with the February 28, 2025 Oval Office incident, saying this one involves concrete policy decisions that could affect Ukraine’s ability to defend itself ahead of a potentially harsh winter.

Russian President Vladimir Putin "wanted very much" for U.S. First Lady Melania Trump to mediate the ceasefire in the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky in Kherson Oblast, Marc Beckman, her exclusive senior adviser, told the Kyiv Independent on Oct. 28.

Yuri Ushakov is an old-school diplomat. He spent a decade as Russia's ambassador in Washington and has been Putin's foreign policy aide since 2012. He chooses his words with care.
Western media quote him as saying "we need to talk with Europe" and read it as Moscow reaching out to Europe. However, there is a catch. There is no "we" in the original. Here is what he actually said.
He was asked why Washington can't simply dictate peace terms to Kyiv. Ushakov answered that after Anchorage it looked like Washington could. It didn't work, because Europe backs Kyiv. So it is necessary to talk "not only with Kyiv, but also with Europe."
Any Russian speaker understands who this impersonal "it is necessary" is addressed to. Moscow is not talking to Kyiv right now. Washington is. And Washington's "talking" to Kyiv means pressure. Ushakov's message to Washington: you pressure Kyiv, now pressure Europe too, or you won't get Kyiv to accept the terms.
He put it in an impersonal form so Washington doesn't feel it is taking orders from Moscow. That is how professional diplomats speak.
So Russia's position stays exactly where it was. Moscow still wants Washington to force its terms on Kyiv, and now on Europe as well.

So now we can blame all Russian for this terrible war.
I really think the world would be 100x safer without Russians at all.
"They naively think they just have to wait it out, and someone new will replace Putin - some new Gorbachev. You just don't get it. Vladimir Putin reflects the hopes of our people. And what is happening now is not "Putin's war," as you are trying to portray it - it is the Russian people's war for their place in this world." - Russian propagandist Solovyev defends Putin.
Of course, it is not Putin who is fighting, but Russians. Russians are a spineless herd of slaves living in fear and obedience. If Putin, who has lost his mind to the war, is replaced by another tsar who says, "Stop fighting," the slaves will stop fighting.
Most Russians have no particular enthusiasm for the war; they grumble about it in their kitchens. But they will never actively protest. Therefore, replacing Putin is a quite logical option and way out.

THE CEASEFIRE HAS COMMENCED
The ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia took effect at 4:00am Moscow time on October 27, 2026.
Timing was accelerated two days ahead of schedule to protect the safety of civilians and to facilitate the delivery of critical humanitarian aid. The ceasefire’s geographic area has expanded beyond Oleshky, within the Kherson Region, to provide safe passage for the humanitarian convoys.
General Valery Gerasimov, Joint Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has confirmed.

People from Oleshky who wish to return to Ukrainian-controlled territory will first be taken to Crimea or Russia, according to FT sources‼️
At this point, we can only brace ourselves for a massive Russian propaganda campaign, legitimized on the international stage by Newsmax's presence.
Everyone must understand what kind of interviews people will give to the media under occupation, being within the grasp of the same regime that invaded their home, held them hostage and almost starved to death. And how this wave of people going to russia is going to be presented.
It is sad, very sad, but people must be saved.

There's a new propaganda effort by Russia, where the focus of agression switched from the USA (now in the pocket, thank you Donald) to Europe.
Europa now is the bad guy in the way of peace and it keeps hanging on to absurd demands like "a cease fire".
🚨 Just as expected. The Kremlin is literally spitting in the faces of the leaders of Norway and Finland after their call with Putin
“Apparently, nothing new was said. This only shows the Europeans’ desire to force their way into the negotiation process,” Lavrov said.
The Russian foreign minister mockingly added that Europe has no chance of getting a seat at the negotiating table — because the EU “consistently condemns Russia and demands an end to the aggression, completely ignoring how it all began.”
That last part was particularly amusing. And how exactly did it all begin, I wonder?

Meaning they will be deported to Russia.
⚡️ Residents of occupied Oleshky will be evacuated via a route through Crimea determined by the Russian side, tells local Kherson media MOST.
Buses and ambulances will transport people. Upon arrival in Ukraine, evacuees will receive housing and medical checks. Draft-age men will have up to 3 months to sort out documents.
